About Me

Hi There, currently I am back already to my hometown, Jakarta, Indonesia. I live with my family, so I can not host anymore. However, I am open to showing you around when my schedule is available.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to host people because I am a traveler. Economically speaking, accommodation is the most expensive part while traveling after transportation. Culturally speaking, meeting with a local while traveling is awesome, living together with them is way beyond awesome.

And personally speaking, I am interested on this radical way of shaping the new method of traveling. I know Couchsurfing concept is not fresh new, but it is still very interesting for me. Moreover, I am doing a little bit research about it with few hypothesis (but I am not a nerd or freak by saying this, just trying being honest).

Interests

I have lots of interest. Any intelligent and nice discussion can get me engaged for hours. I love museums and arts for sure.

If you are a martial arts hobbyist or SCUBA diver/freediver, we can talk a lot about it. Moreover, If you want to visit South East Asia, we can also talk a lot about it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Many many amazing things because of traveling. I would never know many things if I dont travel, includes:

1. The Chinese mainland mostly can not read latin alphabets! If you are lost, please bring the Chinese characters for the place name/address. Dont bring the latin alphabets, most people will not able to read it ;p

2. Still related in finding address. In Romania or other ex soviet countries, if you have an address, bring both before/after the fall of Soviets address. Because of the fall of USSR, they changed many streets names. Some only know the new name and some know the old name!

3. Now related to Soviet LOL. In Vietnam, don't call Ho Chi Minh city with its old name in front of the officials. We can call Ho Chi Minh city with Saigon in front of old people only. Its political ;)

4. In Japan, its impolite if we open the taxi door by ourselves. The taxi driver opens it for us. Also, when do cash transaction in Japan, we must put the money inside the money bowl provided.

5. The British and Irish walks on the left side, contrary with mainland Europeans. But, when it comes to escalator, they follow the right side rules (mainland european rules). People stand on the right, and walk on the left side. Confusing... ;p

6. There are thousands style of Indian nods. Hahaha! And nobody can understand its meaning unless Indians LOL.

7. Usually European language have conjugation with the object on the topics. But in Thailand, the conjugation depends on the speakers' gender. Who speaks matters the conjugation.

8. Most people call The Netherlands by Holland. But the Dutch hates it so much. Because, Holland is just the name of 2 provinces in The Netherlands, South Holland and North Holland.

9. Thinking for more amazing things LOL

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach SCUBA diving and an avid freediver back home in Indonesia. I can teach you the theories :P

I can teach you Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language) for sure, and how to cook traditional Indonesian food. Also, Indonesian culture if you want to visit Indonesia or South East Asia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bring anything from Den Haag on the way to your place if you need something.

Also, I can bring Indonesian food ingredients, and cook some food for you.
