ABOUT ME

I'm a middle class average American white boy, born and bred blue collar, who wants to expand his horizons and put some excitement in his life. In my youth, I traveled all around the world while in the service, and I miss walking around some foreign city, with nothing but the clothes on my back, a backpack with some cash and a CD player and a smile on my face. I want to connect with new interesting people and someday hop on a plane to some new exciting place I have never been too and experience all life has to offer.

I live in a small apartment in Kissimmee, FL. I am a few minutes away from the international airport and less than an hour away from any attraction Central Florida has to offer! I am willing to host anyone wanting to travel to Orlando for a night or two and experience either the tourist part of Orlando, or the local scene. I live by myself with a princess cat named Saje, so if you are ok with a curious pet then feel free to contact me for a couch to surf!

I currently work during the week, but usually have nights and weekends off, and my schedule is flexible, so hosting for a day or two will never be a problem, however longer stays are not real feasible for me since I live in an apartment. I have lived in central florida for over four years, and have spent my childhood in nearby Saint Cloud, so I have a great deal of local knowledge that can help make any trip a rewarding one.

My interests are mostly in reading, writing and music. I enjoy reading independant works, short stories, essays, articles and poems. I write all the same kinds of stuff too. I am a music junkie, and listen to almost any kind of genre out there... if you know of some music I have never heard of... let me know! I love discovering new kinds of music to fill my player with! I also just started learning how to play guitar, and am working my way into the peace corps so I can travel abroad and volunteer my services to people all over the world.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is simply to live life, quit getting caught up in the little details and find a way to enjoy life instead of dreading it. I have had some pitfalls in my life in the past and it got me to a point in my life where nothing was fun anymore and it became a drag to wake up in the morning. I want to break free of the cycle of survival, and start putting away childish things and experience life on a more personal level with new people who can open my eyes different perspectives so that I can be enlightened and enjoy what time I have left. I am an idealistic person, when someone says something is crazy, or it can't be done, I say... why not? and give anything a try. I always see what's possible and strive to squeeze life for everything it has to offer and never bother getting hung up on things that aren't important. I am working on giving up pointless things like fancy materials that serve no purpose and work on reconnecting with people and developing skills that can bring back some validation and purpose to my life. I am working toward joining the Peace Corps so I can continue my volunteering work abroad and make a positive difference in someone's life and hopefully make many new friends.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a couple times before when I lived in a big four bedroom house in Orlando. I have since relocated and settled in a comfy apartment in Kissimmee, FL. I have also spent some time with other surfers! It's been a good experience and now that I have settled down, I want to open my home to fellow surfers again.

Música, películas y libros

I am interested in almost any kind of music, I enjoy everything from oldies, to crazy experimental, heavy metal, back to folk and even a little country. I am currently working on expanding my musical tastes... I try to listen to at least two new artists a week!

I enjoy books that tell a good story, are persuasive and informative, and I especially love books that envoke a good emotional response or talk about philosophy. I like challenging books that require you to evaluate your own preconceived notions and expand your mind to new ways of looking at things that makes you better prepared for the changing world around us. I'll also admit, I love a good humor book... laughter is always a great way to cure a blue mood!

I have spend a year and a half overseas in various countries. I have climed mountains in Italy, I have gotten drunk and partied non stop on beaches in Isreal, I have been to festivals and shopping bonazas in Turkey, and had monkeys attack me in Britian! I have dealt with personal tragedy and overcame it and am now working on giving back to the community that has given me so much!

I am pretty good with trinkets, I have a fascination with technology and how people use it. I can show you how to set up the perfect sounding stereo, or rig the best computer for gaming, or any other number of neat tricks with any kind of device imaginationable. I love exploring new things and learning new ways to do old things. I am always changing, adapting and evolving, learning how to incorperate new things and make my life better and more enjoyable. I also love working new things into my life and jotting down my experiences for others to read, I am a story teller and would enjoy showing how to tell a great story.
