About Me

My partner Roy and I have been traveling companions for two years now and are always excited about our next trip. We are BRAND NEW to couchsurfing. I know my profile says 2014, but I set it up and then never used it! We are EXCITED to get started hosting and staying with hosts!

Our housemate Rachel Duthler is a couchsurfer, though, so you could check out her profile too if you are considering staying with us :)

I'm a graduate student in Couples and Family Therapy, and Roy is an architect. June 15-24 We are traveling from Slovenia to Croatia, to Sarajevo on a little trip to meet up with my family in Turkey, where my family is from, and where we are having a family reunion. We are both interested in organic farming, small town living, social justice and political history, and how to participate in and observe authentic lifestyles in the Balkans and Eastern Europe, and in learning about social and political current issues and movements. We appreciate diversity, learning about all religions and spirituality, and also love tasting local food and drinks. We love nature, hiking, and camping. We also are interested in volunteering while we travel if you know things about that!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We are brand new to CS! We have hosted surfers before through another community, but not through CS. We hosted our first guest last night! It was really fun. Their review should be up soon :)

Wanting to meet people while traveling to new places to make meaningful connections and support sharing economies rather than big tourism. As we learn more about what it means to be at home in Seattle and what place-based living means here, we want to learn about people living intentionally in their places too.

Interests

Having a fire in the back yard with friends, dancing, seeing live music, Hanging out with my 3 year old niece, connecting to nature.
