ABOUT ME

I am open minded. But so are you. And you wouldn't be reading this if either one of us wasn't. I like new things, small things, large things, old things, and weird things as well. And I can get pretty passionate at liking things. Which reminds me I really enjoy people with passion. Don't like to sit at home, like to explore the world that starts right outside the frontdoor. I am a bit shy. Something more serious? I appreciate people, creatures and creations the way they are just because they are that way. I guess that's what they call respect.

If it suites me I will host or just show people around in Amsterdam or the area if they prefer. And I surf whenever I can. I will answer any questions as well. Just contact me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am quite new here, hosted thrice and surfed about 5 times during a very nice trip through Europe in sept/oct 2011. I visited the weekly meeting in Amsterdam couple of times as well. I had a lot of fun and a lot of very good experiences so far, I think I got the idea of couchsurfing and plan to enjoy that a lot more in the future!

Interests

I love nature in its wicked and extraordinairy details. Especially reptiles and amfibians have my interest. I also love to drive or repair one of the vintage cars of my modest collection of rare cars in the age of 25-30 years (Skoda, FIAT, Peugeot, Zastava). I also love to listen to a wide variety of music, preferably live music but I also have an insane CD collection. I recently started playing the drums. I like travelling a lot, explore new places, meet new people, preferably in one of my old cars, it's freedom and adventure. Most of my activities I combine with fotography, my camera is simple but I cherish it and it's a challenge to capture the moments I would love to share with others. Last thing to call, I like hanging out with my friends at home, in Amsterdam or where ever.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Can't name just one thing, unless I name love, which is a very true cliché. Other stuff that shut my mouth and make my heart beat faster could be almost anything, from incedibly large ancient Thracian gravethombs and finding that one species of toad that I was looking for for so long, to crazy roadtrips and fantastic concerts or festivals.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you about frogs, snakes, the way they live, how they mate, some very unbelieveable details as well, and actually I can get people to like toads, snakes and bugs. Accept for my extremely stubborn mum, who just is not enough open minded. I can tell how many cars of some brands and makes are left in the Netherlands. I can tell you more about 90's music then anyone would ever want to know. And there are many many more trivials I could tell about. I can teach you Dutch language, probably some English. I'll be proud to tell anyone about the Netherlands, although not every Dutch thing is to be proud of. I can show you Amsterdam or I can take you with one of my cars to the surroundings of Amsterdam and show you the polder system. I would love to share positive thoughts and laid-back time. I can show you patience, I can show you nature, I can show you my very unusual pets.
And you... just teach me whatever you want to share!
