About Me

Hey there! I'm İdris Danışmaz, currently delving into the world of computer engineering at Politecnico di Torino. Started off with electrical engineering back at Istanbul Technical University but felt the urge to switch gears and explore Italy.

Been lucky enough to wander around Europe a bit, and let me tell you, it's been quite the adventure! There's something special about the charm of Europe that just gets me every time.

Oh, and let's talk about cheese for a minute – I absolutely adore it! There's nothing quite like a good slice of cheese to brighten up your day. Whether it's creamy, tangy, or sharp, count me in!

Got the chance to swing by the States thrice thanks to the summer work and travel setup, mingling with different crowds and just soaking it all in. And let me tell you about Mexico – talk about adding some spice to my travel palette! It's been quite the ride.
In a nutshell, I'm a warm-hearted, easy-going individual with a passion for staying active in sports. Recently, I conquered the challenge of learning to do a backflip, reflecting my love for embracing new experiences. That's a glimpse into my world for now. Catch you later!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is my ticket to exploring new places on a budget. As a student, I'm always on the lookout for affordable accommodation while also wanting to connect with the locals. Through Couchsurfing, I get to swap stories, share insights, and learn about different perspectives from my hosts. It's like a two-way street of learning and experiencing new things.

For me, Couchsurfing is all about making real connections. I love having genuine conversations, sharing laughs, and creating memories with the people I meet along the way. Each encounter brings a chance to learn something new and grow as a person. It's not just about finding a place to crash; it's about building meaningful relationships and giving back to the community.

I believe in embracing the unexpected when I travel. By immersing myself in different cultures and getting to know the locals, I gain valuable insights and forge lasting friendships. Couchsurfing embodies the spirit of adventure and cultural exchange that I hold dear. It's an opportunity for me to explore, discover, and connect with people from all walks of life. Every encounter is a chance to learn and grow, and that's what makes Couchsurfing so special to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music, I'm pretty open-minded and enjoy anything that sounds good to my ears. Lately, I've been diving into old Turkish songs; they've got this timeless beauty to them that I can't resist. I've also dabbled in Kpop and rock in the past. As for movies, I'm all about those mystery and thriller flicks. "A Quiet Place" is hands down one of my favorites, but you know, I'm into all the classic stuff too, no need to list them all. Now, when it comes to books, I'm not the biggest bookworm, but when I do pick up a book, it's usually an adventure. One that really stuck with me is "Impropable"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Three years ago, I embarked on a journey to participate in the Work and Travel program, but encountered unexpected obstacles due to the pandemic. Determined to make it work, I took a leap of faith and flew from Turkey to Mexico, where I obtained my visa before heading to the United States. It was a monumental adventure for me, marking my first time traveling abroad. Despite the uncertainties and challenges, I embraced the opportunity wholeheartedly. The experience was filled with excitement, anticipation, and a sense of the unknown. It was a daring decision that ultimately led to one of the most memorable experiences of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

In the realm of teaching, learning, and sharing, I find joy in imparting my knowledge and experiences. I can guide others in solving a Rubik's Cube or demonstrate coding in multiple languages. Additionally, I'm enthusiastic about sharing insights into Turkish culture, offering examples that shed light on its richness and diversity. Skating, whether on ice or inline, is another skill I'm keen to teach, along with the art of wrist wrestling.I can make a special dish for breakfast ıt is caller kuymak . It is nice you gonna like it i guess. However, I'm equally eager to learn from others' experiences and expertise, recognizing the value of mutual sharing and growth in our interactions.

What I Can Share with Hosts

n terms of what I can share with hosts, currently residing in Torino, Italy, I'm part of a household of three men, and if needed, we can easily free up a room to accommodate guests. I'm more than happy to extend hospitality to visitors in Torino. Additionally, I always make it a point to bring a little something from whenever I travel. Whether it's a sweet treat or a small souvenir, I believe it's a gesture of appreciation and connection that adds a personal touch to the experience.
