About Me

I am a recent graduate with a Bachelors of Arts in History. My focus was in Latin American History and that I am done my studies I am determined to learn Spanish before returning for a Masters degree.

I was born and raised in Canada, spending most of life in the city of Calgary but also having spent 8 years in Toronto.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am currently look to couchsurf for my little 17 day vacation in England as a way to really experience the culture and life of Britain. Also as a recent graduate I am also a little short on cash as all recent graduates are. Lucky for me this means I can get to know some cool people. :)

Interests

I love to learn about new cultures and really experience it by not staying in hostels and hotels and rather staying with host families or friends whenever I travel.

I enjoy cooking, reading non-fiction political/historical books and wine!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all types of music except for country. My favorite artists right now are Sia, Calvin Harris, Drake and Ellie Goudling.

My favorite movie is "Across the Universe" This movie covers my favorite period of history in the United States (1960's) and contains all the best Beatles songs ! :D

I have many favorite books but some of favorites are "1421: The year China Discovered America", by Gavin Menzies and "Day of Empires," by Amy Chu.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have done was deciding to volunteer in San Ramon, Costa Rica for two months. I volunteered teaching English too a group of older women, I also assisted varies English teachers with their classes, helping the kids with pronunciation and with games.

This experience changed my life as I learnt to appreciate the little things and also to be a healthier eater. Costa Ricans have a good diet of rice, beans, salads with lemon, some meat for protein and great tasting fresh cheese !

During this trip I stayed with a host family which was an awesome experience, and every weekend I traveled to varies parts of country seeing the pacific and Caribbean ocean as well volcanoes and waterfalls.
