About Me

I've been living in Chicago for most of the past 22 years. I love to travel all over the world and have been doing so since I was an exchange student in France at the age of 17, but I also love coming home to downtown Chicago and the comfort of my home. It is my pleasure and an honor to share it with my guests.

I recommend reading this: http://www.wikihow.com/Be-a-Great-Couchsurfer

Please read the 'My Home' section of my profile to have the best chance of being hosted.

I keep a close eye on the public trips and offer to host those I feel would be interesting. People that host a lot but rarely surf get my very best effort to try out what they've been missing from the other side. If you have never hosted before, it's very unlikely I will host you. Hosting can be very easy, so give it a try!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I initially started to help out some people after so many people have helped me over the years in my travels. After having experienced the amazing hospitality of different hosts, and seeing the excitement and happiness of my guests, I now just really enjoy the experience. I have met so many fascinating people on this site, and I still stay in touch with the really special friends I have made so far. I love the conversations and sharing travel experiences, as I still want to see more of this world.

As I get more involved, I continue to try to improve my hosting, it's been great!

My wife and I are avid travelers, and it would be amazing to host people from places we will go this year. Cool to reconnect and get the lay of the land from a local resident.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked between Eyjafjallajökull glacier and Þórsmörk volcano in Iceland. A mind blowing and beautiful experience.

Chartering a sailboat with my Dad in the British Virgin Islands. Such an amazing connection to nature, great sun, and clear water, good swimming, great food, and a healthy feeling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always love to treat our hosts to a great meal, either home cooked or at a favorite restaurant. I find eating together gives the time to talk and get to know each other better. I always like to trade information about traveling, or good movies and books.
