About Me

Hi! I'm still pretty new to couchsurfing so forgive me if I miss something obvious. Hopefully now that I am beginning to travel more I can connect more to the couch surfing community and other communities of travelers!

I am an open minded person who is curious about the world on a variety of different levels, whether it's conversing with new people, reading a book about the social patterns of ants, getting lost and un-lost, thinking about different ways to understand the complexity of the world we find ourselves in or wondering if we are all laughing for the same reason. While I do enjoy thinking, I also love to enjoy the present moment.

I am new to Seattle so am happy to explore the city with you (and share some spots I already love).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am interested in connecting with people, expanding my world view, and learning from others.

I have heard amazing things about the traveling community and the couch surfing community. Playing the tourist and staying in a hotel is a very sterile experience and not what I am looking for when I travel. At some point when I have a more stable/accessible home I hope to share the generosity I have received when moving to a new place, but until then I would be happy to give advice meet with you in Seattle.

Interests

I love to bike, and cycle to commute and for fun. It helps me explore new places at a pace that is fast enough but not overwhelming. I enjoy cooking, and think that sharing meals is a great way to build community. In general I like to be outside whether it's in the mountains hours from any town or just out in a park or be engaged in a social activity with other people.

Music, Movies, and Books

All great conversation topics for when we meet!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was young, foolish and energetic I collected several hundred pounds of crayons to recycle and provide art supplies/opportunities for children in disadvantaged situations.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach/Share: While I have a number of deep interests, I don't consider myself such an expert in any field that I have nothing left to learn. I have been practicing yoga for many years so am happy to share my practice with you. I have studied hydrology/climate science for many years, so am happy to share that knowledge with you as well. Really I love being outside, having meaningful conversations and growing from those around me, so I am sure there are multiple things we will be able to connect over.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I really enjoy cooking and if you host me I would love to cook for you/ if I end up hosting at some point in the future, I would also enjoy cooking with anyone who stays with me. I like to think I have other things to share, but I'm not exactly sure how to answer this question.
