HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing, Hosting, Hanging out....

Right now I am preparing my trip to Australia in January... I am looking for people who have a spare couch, hammock, inflatable mattress or anything similar that could be utilized as a bed, some recommendations about their regions or even better, time to explore our world together...I am always responsive to funny ideas and any kind of outdoor activities...as long as it's not too much activity haha...Also I love to discover hidden spots and non-touristy places. So I'm thankful for any hint!

I hosted people from different countries and mostly it was a great experience! Getting new international perspectives about global social issues and news from first hand can`t be replaced by any news channel. I love this international exchange.
But in the first place I`m a dedicated traveler who knows how difficult and expensive it can get in foreign countries. I was helped and hosted by such great people and I think the best way to appreciate that is to give the same experience back. So before leaving to Australia my cosy couch right in the center of Berlin is still waiting for surfers :) Unfortunately it can happen that I won`t have that much spare time to spend with you due to my narrow work schedule in December.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I made my first couchsurfing experiences in Hawaii on the wonderful island Oahu...and it was beyond my expectations. People participating in couchsurfing are amazing and inspiring!

I know it sounds cheesy and like copied from a fairy-tale story, especially because I'm normally pessimistic when it comes to our fast-paced, bustling society, but the couchsurfing community gives me faith in humanity and people, who are simply nice and helpful because it's in their nature!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like thought-provoking books and movies which give you an impulse to scrutinize your own point of view from time to time. But I also love to laugh...so there has to be a good balance between serious topics and trivial comedies.

To me TV is a time killer, so I don`t watch it often. But there are still some movies which I like to watch like Cool it! (Bjorn Lomborg), Machine Gun Preacher, The Great Gatsby, Ruby & Quentin, The Intouchables or North and South.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I planted trees in NYC :)
I hiked the stairways to heaven on Oahu
I survived the Way of St. James ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

My roomie joined cocktail classes and I was the one who benefited of it since she taught me the wisdom of preparing delicious, yummy-looking cocktails :D
So I can teach you how to mix refreshing drinks. ;)

Above that I`m totally into green economy. So I could share some thoughts about a degrowth economy with you.

Or if that`s not enough, I simply will be unintentionally funny by doing something clumsy which will make you laugh for sure ;)
