Hola! My name is Ignacio Gatti. I was born in Argentina and at the age of 7 I moved to New Zealand. You might be thinking, "that's a pretty big decision for a 7-year-old". Well, in fact I moved with my whole family there. Didn't speak a lick of English, and while it was scary being a stranger in a strange place I managed to pull through ok :D. After living in New Zealand for 13 years I've decided to stretch my wings and travel the world, first stop: EUROPE!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a great way of exploring new and different places and getting to know new hosts on a more personal level. And while going to different hostels does provide the opportunity of meeting a lot more people, couchsurfing is a little cheaper :P. Not sure you're supposed to say that on here, but let's be real. I also understand that I will be living in someone else's home and beggars cannot be choosers, so believe me when I say, your house your rules.

Interests

In New Zealand I grew a fondness for bike riding, due to the fact that I didn't have a car. Whether it's riding through the city, forests, uphill, downhill, Underhill, I will ride on it. I'm also an amateur parkourist. Emphasis on the word "amateur", so don't expect me to do any Cirque du Soleil stunts. But if I can find a cool park to do some flips, I might be able to make it work.

I'm a diehard movie lover, so my favorite movies include: Blade Runner, The Shawshank Redemption, Her, Gone Girl, Lawrence of Arabia, Up, Casablanca, Cinema Paradiso, Brick, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter. I could go on and on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I left everything, my job, my home, my friends and family to go traveling through Europe.

Teach, Learn, Share

Being fluent in both English and Spanish, I will be more than happy to teach my hosts either or both languages. I would also love to learn from my hosts how to speak their language
