Overview
About Me
Right now, I'm looking for a place to stay in Madrid, since I'll be taking a course there during May. It is called REACT and it is a course addressed to professionals who want to do humanitarian work in conflict zones. Since I would like to work for the International Committee of the Red Cross in the future, looks like a great opportunity!
I currently live in Buenos Aires City. I'm doing a Master's Degree in International Relations and I volunteer at two local NGOs. One is the Argentinean Red Cross, where I volunteer at the first aid team, and the other one is ACIJ (Asociación Civil por la Igualdad y la Justicia, which is the spanish for Civil Association for Equality and Justice) where I volunteer as a lawyer in the Human Rights and Disabilities area.
ABOUT ME
Me? I enjoy traveling, specially backpacking, with friends or alone. I like animals, natural environments and wilderness. I am friendly and relaxed and enjoy including new people in my life. I tend to smile a lot, I really believe that when you're nice to others, good things happen to you. I try to see the positive side of life all the time, I'm quite idealistic and optimistic and I'm open minded. You can be the most realistic-pesimist person in the world, and still I would enjoy chatting with you and learning about your perspective. That's me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm currently looking for a place to stay during May, in Madrid. And I would really appreciate to stay with a local, to learn the culture, talk about history, learn about your traditions and how you see the rest of the world. I prefer spending time with a local instead of staying in another place.
Interests
I like talking about history, humanitarian activities, the role of civil society and NGOs nowadays, refugees, science. The only thing that bores me to talk about is the personal life of celebrities. Aside from that, almost everything looks interesting to me. In spanish we would say that I love to talk "de todo y de nada" (about everything and nothing).

Music, Movies, and Books
I like listening to Rock bands from the 70's-80's, Jazz, Reggae, Flamenco, Irish Folk, Celtic, hang-drum performers, soundtracks from movies.
Some of my favorite movies and series: Nueve Reinas, Into the Wild, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Pulp Fiction, No Man's Land, Hotel Rwanda, Blood Diamond, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met your Mother, Supernatural...
I am currently reading Rebelle Sans Frontières (the biography of a humanitarian aid worker from MSF) and Las Cinco Caras de Dios (a book that introduces you to the basics of five different religions). Some of my favorite books: The Little Prince, The Tunnel (Sábato), On the Road, Flash, El Caballero de la Armadura Oxidada, La Fórmula de Dios. I'm a compulsive buyer of books (that I'll read months after I bought them)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This year, I participated in the emergency response team of the Red Cross during the flooding of the littoral areas of my country. It was just for a few days, but some of the experiences I lived there gave me a really good feeling.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm open to learn about anything you would like to teach me.
I do like to teach basics about first aid (I believe that if all of us knew a little about that, lots of lives could be saved).
I would like to exchange my knowledge about my country and culture in exchange for yours!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can buy food for me and for my Host.
If you give me a recommendation about somewhere to go, a bar, a park, a museum, etc. I would like to invite you.
I like cooking and I could clean afterwards (this time, the rule: the one who cooks doesn't clean, wouldn't be applicable! Haha).
I'm not a great handyman, but you can be sure that I'll help you if you need a hand to repair something.
