My musical tastes eclectic. My favorite current acts are The Decemberists and Jack White.

I also like a wide variety of movies but I usually rate Coen Brothers, Paul Thomas Anderson and Wes Anderson movies pretty highly.

As of a few weeks ago I've become a big fan of Jonathan Lethem, particularly of Chronic City. I tend to read contemporary literary fiction. Here's my Goodreads bibliography:

A group of five of us were hiking to the summit of Kilimanjaro. A couple of us had had issues with altitude, and I wasn't certain all of us would make it. My friend Andrew and I reached the summit before dawn and were able to watch sunrise. It's cold up there so you tend to think about descending after a half hour or so. And when we were on our way down we came across first one, then another and then another of our team. When I knew all of us would make it to the top I was filled with elation.
