About Me
Hi there,
actually, I get stuck every time I need to write something about me but I will try :)
I have finished PhD as a physicist and now I am trying to continue research carrier in Germany. Among hobbies I took here with me from Russia is bicycling. That is one thing Germans are really great in. I found so many gorgeous routes here!
Like any other couchserfer I adore traveling and getting to know new people/places. I enjoy language learning, playing the music (I can play the piano, the guitar, and the recorder flute which I grab with me in trips), doing Yoga exercises which I have discovered just recently and which have become a part of my daily routine since then.
What I dislike: sitting in a pub/cafe drinking spirits or just getting out to eat instead of going for a walk. I just prefer spending time outdoors. I am not up to staying up late or going out for the whole night - so I won't bother you with this as a guest and I expect the same from my future guests ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's like an addiction - having tried it once, I could not help but searching for couchserfers in every new place I visit. Staying at hotels is not fun anymore as it is so boring and just cannot compete with enjoyment from meeting locals. However, you know it too, right?
Many years ago one acquaintance of mine told me about couchserfing that was quite new at that time and ... it seemed to me ridiculous. I thought to myself that she is crazy cause I would neither let a stranger in into my house, nor do it myself. Ever since I met so many amazing strangers and have stayed at so many crazy places that I changed my mind completely.

Music, Movies, and Books
Whenever I have a chance to play the piano, I perform classic music as it the way I learned it. As a listener I like various stuff ranging from rock to celtic/scottish folk (my last passion).
I do not usually watch TV or movies except for really good ones deserving my time
I like mainly "old-fashioned" books which I was exposed to in a library of my parents during childhood. Among classics I read recently is Mark Twain, Ernst Hemmingway, Erich Maria Remark, and some sci-fi old-school writers.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I played chess with one student of mine for the examination grade. I can spill the beans now as I quited that teacher job and that student is not studying there either.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well, I can talk really long on any topic. Before I have found this website, I thought I am crazy as I feel sometimes an urge to initiate a conversation with random people in a bus/train/around. Now that I see I'm not alone it's a kind of relieve for me though I am still afraid I'm a bit crazy :)
If you are up to riding a bike or going for a walk somewhere, I will be more than happy to keep you a company.
What else? Well, I would be happy to repair your computer or help you with English (if you are not a native speaker, otherwise it is me who would need help). Besides, I recently discovered repairing bicycle is a big fun so I prefer doing most of routine maintenance or fixing tasks myself.
