About Me
Hi! My name is Igor, I'm from St. Petersburg, Russia. I was born in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan is a pearl of Central Asia. It's a small country with really beautiful nature and friendly people. I've travelled since my childhood. It started with regular campings in mountains with my family and then we started to explore all Central Asia. I've visited such countries as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia and so on.
When I was 10 we moved to Russia. I grew up in a small town in Siberia - Khanty-Mansyisk, spent a lot of my teenage years on the snowy hills and beautiful forests, drinking hot chocolate and skiing. After I graduate from school I moved to St. Petersburg. These days I'm a front office manager in a 5* hotel in the usually freezing (but fantastic) city, where the weather is very unpredictable.
I am really open minded person, love meeting new people and experiencing new cultures and hearing stories from around the world.
I recently had an amazing opportunity to travel Scandinavia in what was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I love that region, the people, and their fantastic culture. Now I'm planning several more trips to different parts of the world (when I get the time, given the relentless, unforgiving , but very funny and intersting life of a student).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
What I want from couchsurfing is to make interesting, idiosyncratic friends across the world. I want to hear your stories, swap chats on our adventures abroad, and perhaps go out and have a few new ones while we're at it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 16 I visited my home country - Kyrgyzstan. There I decided to go for a few days to the mountains to live in a tent and admire nature. But this was not just another camping. I wanted to experience my stamina and endurance. Armed with a large backpack, I went to the Fergana Range to climb the Babash-Ata Mountain. At the foot there was a magnificent rocky lake Gulupkan-Ata around which green hills were replaced by steep cliffs. At this lake I lived for three days, watching the nature and admiring the herds of wild horses. Then I decided to climb higher. The higher I ascended, the colder it became, I climbed to a height of 2500 meters, but to climb higher I needed climbing equipment, which I did not have. Even at this altitude it was very cold and hard to breathe. But the surrounding view was worth it. Seeing the world from a height you feel like its king haha. It was an unforgettable experience.
