About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Pursue and share true happiness.

ABOUT ME

This box feels way to small to fit in everything about a person, doesn't it? Does the webmaster think that we are one dimensional characters that can be fully defined in eleven words and a couple of curses?

Or maybe he expects us to be able to concentrate our essence and present it in a small, meaningful package?

Does he.... oh, look, a scroll bar appeared out of nowhere on the right! Just here, see?? -------------->

Maybe the webmaster has hope for humanity after all!

But enough about me... tell me about yourself?

PHILOSOPHY

Live, love, travel, learn, have fun, laugh, be serious, compassionate, respectful, curious, open minded, accept new challenges and responsibilities, work, give your best, chill out, enjoy the small things, share, get inspired, inspire others... and always try to find the elusive balance between all of the above.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Anyhow I can! Giving a roof above the head of those in need of one, insider's hints to those who appreciate local information, spending a day hanging around and having fun, pretending to know something about the history of the place... and there is always the option to try something new :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I selected „available“ as my couch status for the first time, I wouldn’t have imagined how busy would it get. And it's the good kind of busy, mind you. It's the kind of busy that usually represents the highlight of the day, if not the week.

There is, however, a big downside to this system that is becoming increasingly apparent. Picture this: you spend a prohibitively fun day with a person who was nothing more than a stranger just a day ago. The day might end with a laid back conversation that gets out of control and starts going deep, erasing what’s left of the notion “stranger” from the person next to you. You then start considering this person a friend while a sense of joy slowly floods your unconscious. The next day comes, and then – BAM! All of a sudden, you have to wave goodbye to this stranger who has evolved into a friend in such an amazingly short time. The bottom line is: couchsurfers are usually great people, and saying goodbye to great people is always hard.

Interests

Apart from the obvious - travelling, I like any kind of outdoor activity, especially hiking and riding the bike. My major hobby is photography, but there are several others that have never had the time to properly develop. Dancing, for example. Scratch that... I've just started attending salsa lesions :)

Let me confess something: I don't smoke and am not a big fan of alcohol. And I prefer private, meaningful conversations to partying. There you have it. Now you owe me two of your secrets :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes, yes and... yes.

Somehow the books of P. Coelho got under my skin the deepest.

Music is like people. You have to keep an open mind about coming in contact with new and unusual styles - you never know what will you like. And just like people, here and there you come across some gems that get stuck with you and become an endless source of inspiration, comfort and understanding.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Imagine this: it's well past midnight. You are swimming, surrounded only by a pitch black sea underneath, and a million twinkling stars of this moonless night above. Then you notice how the movements of your hands through the water leave faint light trails, caused by bioluminescent plankton.

You feel like floating in space... completely free and immersed in stardust.

This was the single most amazing experience ever. And no, I don’t do drugs :)
