About Me

Hello everyone!

I am Ugur, 29 years old. I grew up in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Istanbul. Since 2013, I live in Guangzhou, China. Ni hao!

I have a bacheoler degree on an industrial engineering from a reputable university of Turkey, Technical University of Yildiz. Graduated in 2010.

I worked in IT sector as an SAP HR applications consultant for 2 years in Turkey. After changing my mind about corporate jobs, I decided to work in trade. So, my next stop happened to be China. Since 2013, I am living in odd part of the world, far east.

Recenlty travelling in China, getting more about Chinese culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When you are a tourist; they are soap bubbles, the places you see, the things you eat, whatever, next year you will forget all. Living the city, with a friend, makes the memories that you hardly forget.

I do appreciate couchsurfers and the couchsurfing idea that helps all people travelling to have a roof over them wherever they go.

Interests

I do like playing guitar, I have an acoustic guitar and an Ibanez electric guitar at home. They are my first tools against stress.

If I have time, i like hitting the bars: drinking, listening music and socializing. If I am at home, I like playing console games, watching movies and improvizing guitar music.

hanging out with friends and learning. I spend my time mostly dealing with music stuff. I like listening to music quite much too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I appreciate any good music which gets me. However, I mostly like groovie songs, that keeps me moving.

About movies, I m recently watching Christopher Nolan movies. I like most of the Tarantino, Guy Ritchie movies. I mostly watch Hollywood movies but I spend some time on world cinema, too. Some of my favourites are Inception, The Dark Knight, Snatch, Rock'n'rolla, Pulp Fiction, Hot Fuzz, Forrest Gump, The Intouchables, 9 Queens, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, The Pianist, Blues Brothers, Inglorious Bastards, Django Unchained etc.

I m not much of a reader, but I like reading about history. I find it quite interesting learning how we and world evolved throughout years, why this and that happened etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In a trip to Italy, spending all my money until only my interrail train ticket and airplane ticket to home left.

Guess what...
Railway workers had a strike that day!
