About Me

Hi, I’m Igor from Brazil. I’m a business consultant and travel agent, and right now I’m traveling through South and Central America as a digital nomad while working online. IG: @iam.viagens

I really enjoy discovering places beyond the obvious tourist side. I like local food, markets, walking around neighborhoods, history, football culture, and conversations that help me understand how people actually live in each city.

People usually describe me as calm, respectful, easy to talk to, and organized. I’m independent in my daily routine, clean, and mindful of other people’s space and time. Since I work while traveling, I also appreciate quiet moments during the day, but I’m always happy to share a meal, a walk, a drink, or a good conversation when it feels natural.

For me, traveling is not only about seeing famous places, but also about experiencing the local rhythm, exchanging perspectives, and creating real human connections.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I want my trips to feel more human and local.

I’m not only looking for a place to stay. I’m interested in meeting people, understanding different lifestyles, and experiencing each city from a more genuine perspective. I enjoy hearing local recommendations, learning about the history and daily life of a place, and sharing stories from Brazil and from my travels.

At this moment, I’m traveling long-term through South America while working remotely, so Couchsurfing feels like a great way to connect with people instead of just passing through cities anonymously. Of course, it also helps make long-term travel more financially sustainable, but for me the main value is the cultural exchange and the chance to create real connections along the way.

Interests

I’m especially interested in history, local culture, food, and the everyday life of each place. I enjoy walking through neighborhoods, visiting markets, trying traditional food, learning how people live, and hearing local perspectives that you usually don’t find in guidebooks.

I also like football culture, architecture, drinks, and conversations about travel, culture, business, and different ways of living. Since I work remotely while traveling, I’m also interested in meeting other digital nomads and people who have built alternative lifestyles.

In general, I value simple and real experiences much more than luxury or tourist clichés.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is probably the easiest way for me to connect with places and people. I especially enjoy Brazilian and Latin music, because they carry so much identity, rhythm, and emotion, and I love to dance.

I like many different styles depending on the moment, from Brazilian classics to samba, pagode, forró, sertanejo, and also many Latin sounds. In general, my taste is quite open, and I enjoy discovering local music wherever I go.

For movies, I would say my taste is also broad. I’m open to many genres, and I usually enjoy anything that brings a good story, an interesting perspective, or helps me understand people and cultures better.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have made two big changes in my life by following what felt meaningful to me, even when it meant leaving stability behind.

The first was leaving the private sector to work with social projects, because volunteering and creating positive impact had always been important to me. The second was leaving another stable path to become a digital nomad and build a life with more freedom, movement, and connection with the world.

Traveling to many different countries has also been an important part of my journey. More than the number of places, what matters to me is how those experiences changed the way I see life, people, and myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really enjoy conversations about life, beliefs, spirituality, values, and different ways of seeing the world. I like learning how other people think, what they believe in, how they live, and what gives meaning to their lives.

I also enjoy sharing my own perspective, life philosophy, and personal experiences. In a lighter way, I love dancing and I’m always happy to talk about music, rhythm, and dance, or simply share that energy.

For me, some of the best exchanges happen through honest conversation, curiosity, and openness.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share good conversation, travel stories, and perspectives from both my personal and professional life.

I have experience in different professional environments and career transitions, so I enjoy exchanging ideas about work, purpose, lifestyle changes, and personal growth. I can also share stories and lessons from my travels and from the different cultures I’ve experienced along the way.

And of course, I’m always happy to share simple moments too — a meal, a walk, music, dance, a drink, or just a genuine conversation.
