About Me

hi, i'm ida!

i love being on the road, not only as in travelling to go (new) places, but really just the moment of sitting in a train/bus/car or waiting by the road or station. i can't sit straight in a chair and like pick-nick style meals on the floor. I quite enjoy chaos but can get very annoyed with unreliability.
i can be super-talkative but also really enjoy keeping to myself sometimes. i'm tend to be independent and i don't mind improvising things on the go. i admire people who manage to somehow always keep their positive energy, motivation and belief.
i love long, honest conversations, everything from emotional ones to political discussions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

i think i'd always rather skip some sights to hang out with people in "unspectacular" places of their every-day life.

Interests

i like spending times outdoors, going on short trips, (wild) camping, or just hanging in a park or by the water. maybe with a slackline. i work a lot with kids and youth in my free time, i used to do ski instructing and now do different activities and camps/weekend trips for a kids and youth organization. i'm interested in social and group dynamics, informal political education and creative processes. i like organizing stuff and having good times together.
i studied and worked in the field of design and am interested in all kinds of creative stuff, craft, film, graphic design, but most of all (at the moment) tinkering and building stuff, coding a bit aswell.
i'm into (queer-)feminist, intersectional, decolonial politics and social justice movements in general.

Music, Movies, and Books

favorite music: spontaneous jam sessions! i can't help admiring people who make music so naturally (while i'm a lost cause when it comes to that, unfortunately)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

some long hitchhiking trips felt quite amazing, jumping into lakes after long hikes or days can feel really amazing, and so many more things.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Ghana, India, Iran, Thailand, Togo

Countries I’ve Lived In

Benin, Canada, Finland, Germany, Sweden
