Overview
About Me
I'm a 27 years old islander. I come from the capital of the beautiful Dominican Republic. I have a Mechanical Engineering B.Sc degree and finished a Chemical and Energy Engineering M.Sc. program at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg and now I live in Köln. On my free time, I like to go running and training in the gym. I also used to play the guitar and play in my school's band. Upon graduating from by bachelor's, I started working at a brewery, so if you like the beer we could tell you some interesting things about the process of making it. Before coming to Europe I started surfing and doing Scuba Diving but now while living in Germany this is a hobby which is completely hard to keep. I've been living in Germany since 2015 and I've already visited more than 70% of European countries which you may see down below on the list! I've found a passion for travelling, meeting new people, living their life for a short period of time and learn from them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Most of the time I'm travelling with friends so we stay in hostels or rent an apartment. In a hostel, you meet really cool people who are travelling and in apartments, you have plenty of comfort by having a whole place for yourself. The problem with these two options is the lack of interaction with locals which is the main reason I'm on Couchsurfing.
According to what I understand this is not about getting free accommodation and reducing costs. For me, this is all about connecting with people, learning from a new culture, asking a local where to go, what to eat, what to drink and share my own past experience with them to help them in their future Couchsurfing experience.
Interests
One curious thing about me is how I've managed to learn four languages. My native language is Spanish, I speak English since I was a little kid and started learning french when I was in Highschool. Now German while living studying in Germany and also I've created multiple "Language classes" with short phrases from people I meet from all over the world. I love animals, I have a gorgeous Siberian Husky, which I named "Kimi" because of my favourite Formula 1 driver who's nickname is "Ice Man". Do you get the relationship? :D - Sadly, Kimi is in the Dominican Republic but my sister is taking good care of her. I love to eat and therefore now I love to cook. I've subscribed several online websites for recipes and from now and then I cook as much as I can. Also, when I'm not cooking I'm out there trying local food from small shops or informal restaurants. (As far as I know, these are most the time the best places) DANCING! Merengue and Bachata come from the Dominican Republic -> is in my blood. I also LOVE to dance Salsa which comes from our neighbour country Cuba.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love listening to music (and dance to it). Usually, I'm listening to Latin music such as Salsa, Merengue & Bachata. But don't be confused by that, I also like electronic music, EDM, Techno, Rock... If the music sounds good, I will add it to my playlist!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelling through 13 European countries with my sister and my best friend during Summer 2016. I flew from Berlin to Bratislava, then buses to Vienna, Maribor, Ljubljana, Bled, Bohinj, Koper, Zagreb, Split, Krka, Dubrovnik, Kotor, Budva, Belgrade and a flight to Prague, a bus to Berlin to fly again to Brussels, then a train to Spa, Francorchamps, Ghent, Bruges, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Amsterdam and flying to Milan, then trains to Maranello, Modena, Monza, Zürich, Heidelberg and finally back to Magdeburg, Germany!
And a plus: I went to the largest electronic music festival in the world with my two best friends. TOMORROWLAND 2016.
Teach, Learn, Share
One thing for sure I will do is to teach you how to move your body to the rhythm of Salsa, Merengue and Bachata!
Then, I'd go to the local supermarket and try to find the right ingredients for a typical Dominican dinner.
While cooking and having dinner I'd definitely teach you some words in Spanish.
And finally, I'd love to share stories of travels and past Couchsurfing experiences.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I think I've already given you a hint on the previous text but, I'll share the kind of stuff that makes your stomach happy (food), the kind of stuff that makes your ears happy (music) and also the kind of stuff that will make you move (dancing!).
