I grew up in a very small town, about 1000 people. I'm a huge fan of the outdoors and love spending time outside, rain or shine. Adventure keeps my alive.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couchsurfing because of my inborn desire to wander. We live only once and I want to experience as much as I can throughout the course of my brief existence! I see couchsurfing as an incredibly rare opportunity to do what I've always dreamed of: seeing more of the world.

Interests

There aren't many things that I am opposed to trying, and that includes food! I appreciate originality in all aspects of life. The natural world never ceases to baffle me. I plan to spend the majority of my life exploring this magnificent planet.
I study and practice meditation.
I find modern painting to be thoroughly stimulating: Picasso and Kandinsky being my favorites.
I avoid processed foods and eat a sustainable diet, for myself and the planet.
Vegan but I eat eggs.
I watch a lot of YouTube and am an avid NPR listener.
I am endlessly intrigued space, consciousness, and the human experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

Huge fan of music. Artist who write and/or produce their own music are typically my favorite. My tastes vary greatly: Kanye, Bon Iver, Tame Impala, Beethoven, Miles Davis, Alt J, Atmosphere, Bob Marley, Frank Ocean, Gorillaz, Jason Mraz, Hans Zimmer, M83, Dre, Travis Scott, Wrekonize... to name a few.
I enjoy reading. Some of my favorites include: Atlas Shrugged, Catcher in the Rye, Cloud Atlas, Perk of Being a Wallflower, Walden, On the Road. I prefer to read mostly contemporary lit.
I believe movies can be an expression of art equal to any other. I most enjoy films by Stanley Kubrick. Others I like: Fight Club, Mr. Nobody, Cloud Atlas, Lord of the Rings (all three are completely gold), Titanic, Inception, The Dark Knight trilogy, Interstellar, Wall-e, Alien, Star Wars.
As far as the whole books being made into movies debate, I am firmly sided with the books.
Documentaries, love them! Nature, societal critique, war, biography, doesn't matter! I grew up watching taped re-runs from National Geographic and the History Channel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiked from Wyoming to California to Colorado. Met some of the most interesting and generous individuals of my life while doing so.
