About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To adventure, learn, discover, and share the untold inspiring stories of the commonplace.

ABOUT ME

I'm an adventurous college student, always looking at the smallest of details to find the largest of stories. God is my foremost passion (I'm currently studying at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL).

PHILOSOPHY

Christ is my savior. I believe He loved me enough to die for my sins, saving me from them. I don't try and force this belief on others though--I'll answer questions and share what I believe is the truth, but trying to force my opinions on someone won't help anything. I live to love God and love others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't have the accommodations to host currently, but if you're in the neighborhood I'm totally willing to help show you around town or grab a cup of coffee.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've enjoyed staying with CS hosts in the past (my favorite was getting to stay with a host in Daytona Beach, FL).

Interests

I love language, and I'm currently studying linguistics to obtain a better grasp of language as an entity. I'm also an avid reader and author, as reading allows me to acquire and formulate new ideas, while writing allows me to process and solidify those ideas.

Music, Movies, and Books

In terms of books, the Bible is where I look for final authority in the way I live. I'm also a huge fan of C.S. Lewis, Samuel Johnson (the one who wrote The Idler, not the one who wrote biographies), Robert Jordan, J.R. Tolkien, Thoreau, literary classics, and other general readings.
As far as music goes, my favorite bands and artists are Mae, Regina Spektor, Breanne Düren, Owl City, and Electric Light Orchestra. In general terms, I prefer soft, female vocalist singer/songwriters, serene indie/alternative, and electronica (but I'll listen to just about anything I don't find too lyrically offensive).
I'm not a huge movie watcher, but my favorites are Oliver and Company, Into the Wild, The Dark Knight, Seven Pounds, and just about all Pixar creations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favorite trips was a six week road trip in the summer of 2011 with my best friend after graduating with my Associate's Degree. Our journey covered 36 states, taking an initially eastward trip starting from Utah. It was the trip of a lifetime.

Teach, Learn, Share

Because my religious belief is the most important part of my life, I'd love to have many discussions on religious ideology (note: not debates, discussions).
