ABOUT ME

My name is Mel. I currently live and work in Vancouver with my husband and toddler son.
Before I had my son, anytime I had a few days off together I loved to take mini-vacations and explore new cities and meet people. It was put on hold for a bit but now that my son is a bit older we are starting to travel more. He's at a wonderful age where everything is awesome and it's nice to have that sense of wonder again.
I am pretty outgoing, love going for hikes and exploring, enjoy craft beer, tasting new foods, love to laugh and meet new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing experience was by accident! I met a girl on my rideshare from Vancouver to Seattle and didn't have a place to crash when we got into the city. She offered for me to stay with her at her boyfriend's place who didn't have anyone "couch surfing" that night. The gesture was just amazing and it's good to know there are more people out there.

I took the VIA rail train from Toronto to Vancouver and fell in love with Canada. It's just unreal and gorgeous how much this country has to offer.
