About Me

CURRENT MISSIONS
Travel-Minimalism- Ecoresponsability- Reconnect to the Earth and people
Keep it simple and friendly!

PHILOSOPHY
"A stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet."

"Reexamine all you have been told, in school or church or in any book, and dismiss whatever insults your soul; and your very flesh shall be a great poem." Walt Whitman

"In the end, we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught." Baba Dioum

"Each man is torn between two needs, the need of the Canoe, that is travelling, self wrench, and the need of the Tree, that is roots and identity, and people constantly go back and forth, yielding to one and the other, until the day they realize it is with the Tree that the Canoe is built." Melanesian myth from Vanuatu

ABOUT US

Florent: I have a twin brother, who's now a sport teacher. My mom and dad are both teachers as well. Fond of sports of any kind but mainly of windsurf and surf.

Virginie: I was born in the beautiful region of Provence in the South of France (Marseille) & I have always wanted to travel the World to meet people & culture I just happened to read about in books. I find being confronted with difference and learning from it a thrilling and fulfilling experience. I love everything about travel

We have a 4 years old little girl whose name is Manea.

After a year spent in French West Indies (Martinique), we settled in Tahiti in 2014 where we are both veterinarians. I also take part in marine biology research projects and local wildlife conservation projects.

We travelled a lot around the world and we intend to do so in the next years that life provides to us!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW WE DISCOVERED COUCHSURFING

We discovered and tried CS in the Province of Quebec-Canada where we had wonderful and unique experiences. Most of our guests became friends and we are now glad to be able to host them as well !

WHY DO WE CHOOSE TO DO COUCHSURFING

We are used to travelling as "Routards" (that would be the French word for "backpackers"). We deeply think it is the best way to "live" a country and discover all the aspect of its culture. It's a wonderful way to meet people, share our knowledge, points of view & feelings and to experiment other ways of life. We're convinced this very genuine way to travel tends to inspire and fill with hapiness whoever decides to experience it.
One of the things we like the most in CS is to be able to share the everyday life of people of all kind, sometimes very different from us. It's a little bit like living a thousand lives in one!

Interests

-Sports: tennis, volley-ball, football, rugby, handball, golf, windsurf, surf, ski, snowboarding, skate ....in fact every sport!
-Dance: salsa, rock'N'roll, Ori Tahiti (danse tahitienne)
-We love to play games (we have a "game library" at home :p )
