Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Seems like a good way to get to know new people from around the world both when I'm home and can host as well as when I am travelling myself.

I'm travelling to China from Nov To late December and late Feb to late March. There are lots of other countries I am interested in. Chiefly Germany, Sweden and France in Europe, Mexico, Canada and the Hawaii in the Americas, Japan, Mongolia and Tibet in Asia.

Interests

For work I am an English teacher, anthropologist , a dog whisperer and a hypnotherapist. Also I. 'm a painter, a writer, a poet and attempting to be a screenwriter and documentarist. I'd love to learn more about gardening and I'm good at cooking, though I don't do it often. Very good at it when I really really wanna do it, which is rare, an interesting cook when I cook for someone else, and a bad cook when I cook daily at home.

Music, Movies, and Books

can't stand loud music. I love the violin, the harp and the piano. Oh the flute as well. I like ethnic and old traditional music. Irish , Breton and Scottish music. Love the Beatles, John Lennon, Simon and Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, the REM, Elvis and Johnny Cash. Love Enja, some random select folk music and Fabrizio De André. Like some Battisti, Boccelli and Battiato and some Gianna Nannini. Enjoy some classic, mostly Chopin, Mozart and Beethoven. I read mostly children book and a few selected fiction for regular grownups, but like children books better. My favourite writers, Sarah Waters and Amelie Nothomb, but I don't like her anymore, she pisses me off. Movies ....let me think....Little Miss Sunshine, The Truman Show, Matrix, Pranzo di Ferragosto, Sister My Sister, La Tourneuse de Page, The Birds' Cage, Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis...there are so many I can't think of right now.
