About Me
Hi everyone!
My name is Ilaria, I'm from Italy and what I like most in life is hanging out and making new friends! I think that travelling is amazing not only for looking around, but mostly because it gives the opportunity of finding interesting people.
I left my home at 18 and since then I've been living with people coming from all over the globe, creating incredible bonds which allowed me to have brothers everywhere! Honestly, this is also why I'm new in couchsurfing: in my life I've been in an hostel just once, all the other times I've been visiting friends in their hometowns or I've been hosted by their relatives, who became themselves important people to me.
As an host, the process has been the same: I've been welcoming a lot of people in my house wherever I lived, the most funny occasion I think that has been in Bologna, when I've found two guys travelling around Europe in a pizzeria. After eating a slice of pizza we were already in my living room and they staid for the following week! It has been very natural and great :)
About me I can cook (thanks, mamma!), I love pets, doing and watching sports (I'm a basketball referee!), visiting museums, parks, walking around, volunteering, chilling and doing new experiences! I can say I'm quite open, I'm usually the one that says "ok, let's do it!" and then asks for details... 'till now it always worked (:
My idea, in general, is that everyone has something to say, so I like to hang out with every kind of person. It allows me to learn a lot and mature new points of view, which is the most important thing for my personal growth.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I want the opportunity of meeting new people while I'm travelling. Obviously I can do it also in a bar, or on the street, but this is another instrument to find openminded people who are willing to share a bit of their life and thoughts!

Music, Movies, and Books
Like everyone, I listen/watch/read a lot of things, and I'm open to new categories.
The kind of music I listen to is mostly Hip Hop, Blues, Jazz, Electro and Techno. I really like the bands who try to experiment, like Abstract Orchestra (playing Dilla they're amazing!), or the djs who really work on their sets such as Mulero and Jeff Mills. I also used to play guitar and bass... the regret will make me play again!
About movies, I really do not have a preferred kind. Every one is a trip, for me.
If I have to say few names right now, I would say "The Legend of 1900" (also the book is amazing, called just "Novecento"), Waking Life and Ciudade de Dios. Very random, as you can see.
Talking of books, my favourite one I think is "One, no one and one hundred thousand" of Pirandello, together with "The old man and the sea" of Hemingway. I like reading litterally everything, from specific papers to easy romances like "Three Men in a Boat (To say nothing of the dog)" of JKJ (perfect one to chill!). In these days I've finished one of Zafon and one of Lilin, I think I could start now something from the french litterature, but I'm still deciding... I have a long list to complete!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Every time I think about "incredible stuff" I feel so little... any action or moment can be incredible, it's a matter of perspective. That's why life is amazing :))
Teach, Learn, Share
Using the words of a great friend, there is nothing in particular I can teach or want to learn, but I love sharing.
I love to learn new things, that's also why in my life I do not always conclude what I start! I'm so fascinated by the idea of obtaining new skills that, as soon as I have basic ones, I just stop what I'm doing and search for something different... maybe not the best attitude, but to date I know a bit of a lot of things!
What I Can Share with Hosts
If I'll be at your house, I'll obviously have respect of your space and needs: I'm an enthusiastic person, but first of all a polite one. I know that everyone has his way of living and I'm convinced that until everyone is respectful, living together can be good.
To my guests I can offer company, some cooking skills, company and surely a lot of good vibes!
