About Me
My name is Ilaria and I live in a small town surrounded by the hills of Monferrato (Piedmont, Italy). These are the places where I was born and that I left many years ago. Indeed, when I was 19 I decided to leave my village and to moove in other cities in order to live in culturally stimulating places, to study, to meet new people and to travel. I studied in Pavia, near Milan, then moved to Turin and finally I lived 5 years in India, where I worked as a project manager for a wonderful educational project that had been spreading a methodology based on the balance between body, mind and heart. I can undoubtedly say it was the best experience of my life. In 2020, because of the pandemic, I came back to Italy and I never left again. For the time I stay here I want to enjoy my roots and the beautiful nature that surrounds me. I am creating my own non-profit project with the aim of introducing children and teenagers to a path that helps them learn about themselves, others and the nature around them. I am taking the time I need to do this. What do I love? I love beauty in all its forms. I love kind and true people, who know how to empathise and relate to others. I love travelling, because it opens my mind and always gives me new insights. I love, immensely, the nature. I love walking and, after my last trip to Crete, I am thinking of learning to climb. I love friends, always. I love the unexpected events because I find it extraordinary how life can always surprise!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I deeply believe in the beauty that comes from knowing other people. I believe it is a bit of magic. In my life I have been lucky enough to travel a lot and to be hosted often by friends but also by people I hardly knew. All the support I have encountered has helped me to be a better person, more open, more flexible, happier.
I currently live in a small, but beautiful apartment, with a wonderful view of the hills and I am happy whenever I can host someone. I love spending time introducing people to the places of my heart and childhood, telling them about these lands and listening to other people's stories. I joined Couchsurfing because I believe in all this and because I feel the need to continue to learn and explore through sharing with others. I know that being able to get to know local people is a huge treasure. I am a very sociable person, I love spending time with my hosts and sharing a bit of who we are. At the same time I am also used to having my own space and travelling and living alone and there is no problem for me if my host is busy with something else and there is no time for sharing.
