About Me
Hello, fellow couchserfers! I'm Ilaria, a travel and food enthusiast. Since I was 11 I had to get used to the nomad life and now that I'm almost 30 I can proudly say that I've lived in 5 different countries and 10 different cities... and I can't wait to start exploring the beautiful lands of Aotearoa!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've never travelled with Couchsurfing before, but as I am going to New Zeland to open up my point of view I thought that trying new things would be the perfect way to start this life journey.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: I love Latin American music (not reggaeton or any of the mainstream stuff) especially Violeta Parra, Mercedes Sosa and Chavel Vargas: three of the strongest women that the world has ever known in history.
MOVIES: everything, from blockbusters to silent films
BOOKS: that's a hard one... reading is one of my favourite things in the world, I can say that some of my favourite authors include Saramago, Chatwin, Verne, Coloane and I could keep listing them for days!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelling alone for 13 hours to Buenos Aires to reach my loved one when I was still afraid of aeroplanes!
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach Italian. I want to learn everything I could about New Zeland culture and history. I'll be more than happy to share all my recipes! (some of them are on my blog freakyfoody.com)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cooking (definitely one of my main hobbies), good chats about art, movies and a lot of travel tips for anyone is planning to visit Italy or Barcelona (where I lived for the last 4 years).
Countries I’ve Visited
Argentina, Belgium, Chile, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Turkey, Uruguay
