Ciao! :) I'm Ilaria and since August I left my home country to follow my passion for nature and environment and study a Master in Sustainability in Lund, Sweden.

I'm very open-minded, I love meeting and getting to know new people and their cultures. The more different to mine, the more interesting! I love learning new languages, I studied Japanese and Chinese in my Bachelor and am trying to get a grasp of Dutch, German, Spanish and Swedish as well. As with all languages, however, it needs practice and native speakers to talk to to be able to master them... but that's was traveling is for, isn't it? ;)

As my Master suggests, I'm passionate about environment and I try to have as much a sustainable lifestyle as I can. I prefer to eat vegetarian (or even vegan), but I'll make an exception if it's a super duper tasty and traditional "meaty" meal, cooked with love and care :)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Traveling is a need I have every now and then, but a student's budget doesn't always allow that. I like couchsurfing as it gives the possibility to travel for cheap, meet locals, make new friends and restore faith and trust in humanity :)

兴趣

Music, swing dance, languages, photography, origami, DIY crafts, oriental spirituality, yoga, traveling (and maybe volunteer or work at the same time - ever heard of Workaway or WWOOF?).

Music: Indie Rock, Rock, Swing, Electronic, Jazz, Blues. Among my favorite artists: Keane, Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Florence & The Machine, The Killers, The Wombats, Black Keys, Kings of Leon, Chet Faker, Flume, Tycho, First Aid Kit, John Mayer and many many more.

Movies: Haven't found a favorite director (yet). I like basically anything but Horror movies :/

Books: I grew up with the Harry Potter saga - Now I prefer classics, travel or spirituality books.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

It was this summer - My best friend and I flew over a gorgeous, 1000mt deep valley, tied together to a steel cable running between two small villages on the Lucian Dolomites (look for the proof in my Photos ;) ).

I also volunteered in an organic farm on a lake in Sweden, learning a lot about growing tomatoes and herbs and being able to watch breath-taking sunsets every single day. Still feel blessed and lucky for that marvel.
