Hello! My name is Ireland but you can call me Ilee. Despite my name, I am not Irish but rather American! I am a 20 year old from a suburb of Chicago. For the last year and a half I have been living and studying in Le Havre, France. I am studying political science but I love learning about sociology and history and art. I also adore photography, fashion, and animals-- especially my old grumpy black cat named Monty. But I think my true passion is traveling and learning about other cultures. I love meeting new people and experiencing new things. I hope we can do this together!

I am only in Europe until July so I am trying to travel as much as possible here before I leave!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I love to explore. I strongly believe that exploration isn't just the places you've been. It is instead the people you meet and the experiences you gain along the way. I decided to start a Couchsurfing profile because I want to be able to have a more immersive and authentic experience in the places I visit. I think that learning about the world is best accomplished by meeting people and listening to their story--the Couchsurfing organization is a great means by which to do this! I have been lucky enough to go to an very international university (my best friends are from India and Nigeria and Hong Kong!) and this has opened my eyes to how diverse the world is. It has taught me that although we may have different cultures and beliefs, we are all the same at our cores. I'm very sorry this is very cheesy!! But I truly believe this! :)
