Overview
About Me
Hello! My name is Leo. I'm a software developer by profession, but my passions extend far beyond the world of coding. I've had the unique opportunity to travel the world playing table tennis at a professional level, which ignited my love for exploring new places and cultures. Music plays a significant role in my life; I've been playing the piano for many years and recently ventured into drumming, though I consider myself a beginner in the latter. My athletic interests don't stop at table tennis—I also play beach volleyball at a semi-professional level and have experience as a skiing instructor. I'm constantly seeking new experiences, whether it's discovering a hidden gem in a city, trying out a new sport, or meeting interesting people. I'd describe myself as easy-going and always up for an adventure.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I crave authentic experiences when I travel. For me, understanding a culture goes beyond the typical sightseeing tours; it's about immersing myself in the daily lives of local people. Meeting hosts and fellow travelers through Couchsurfing allows me to see how locals live, spend their time, and what their traditions are. This, to me, is the essence of truly getting to know a place.
Interests
I have a diverse array of interests that span music, sports, and dancing. I enjoy playing musical instruments like the piano and drums, and I'm deeply passionate about dancing—especially salsa and bachata, though I'm always eager to learn new styles. My sports interests include table tennis, beach volleyball, and more recently, paddle tennis, which I find incredibly fun. I'm also keen on exploring new activities and challenges that push my boundaries.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is a big part of my life, and my tastes are eclectic. I love rock music for its energy, Latin tunes like salsa, bachata, and reggaeton for their rhythm, and classical music when I'm in the mood for something more introspective. My music preferences can sometimes extend to mainstream tracks, depending on my mood.
My movie preferences are just as varied; I'm a big fan of superhero movies, especially the Marvel series, and "The Matrix" holds a special place as my all-time favorite. I'm not very picky about movies—I can enjoy anything from a heartwarming romantic comedy to a chilling horror film, even though horror isn't typically my genre of choice.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most memorable experiences I've had was during my backpacking travels in Latin America. I had the incredible opportunity to help a local family plant cacao trees in the deep jungle at their cocoa farm. This experience was not only a unique way to connect with the land and its people but also gave me a firsthand look at the origins of chocolate, something I've always been fascinated by.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm passionate about sharing my skills and learning from others. I would love to teach dance, particularly salsa and bachata, to those interested. I'm also keen on learning new languages, as I believe it's a fantastic way to connect with more people and cultures. Sharing experiences and stories is something I value highly, and I look forward to exchanging tales of adventure and discovery with my hosts and fellow travelers.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I bring a spirit of generosity and curiosity to every hosting experience. I can share engaging stories from my travels and life experiences, offer dance lessons for those interested in learning, and maybe even share some tips on various sports I'm involved in. I'm all about creating memorable moments and fostering a sense of community wherever I go.
