Overview
About Me
Hi there! My name is Ilya. I have difficulties to define myself in a single word, as I seeking my self constantly.
I'm 30 years old, married to Yael. I live in Israel for almost 14 years since my immigration from Sakhalin Island. Russia.
Currently, left my job as a software developer in order to get a break and to work on my own things.
I seeing traveling as an essential thing for every human being - as a source of inspiration, a way to discover yourself, and, hey! We are here for how long? 50 years till the spaceship comes to take as back? So what else have we do here besides walking around, watching stuff on the Earth... :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, I'm on Couchsurfing since 2011. I opened my profile when I was a student because it was a cheap way to travel. I came for a cheaper accommodation and stayed for people. Because nothing else matters on the way as people that you meet, and this is what Couchsurfing about - about people.
Interests
My interests are changing constantly. I'm always a beginner in something. Never afraid to throw myself in the water and start something new. I taught myself programming and worked a software engineer for 4 years till now. I love the startup scene, tech, and online products talks, but I do it less when I'm traveling.
I love to cook, watch TV shows, my current favorite is Rick and Morty. Brew beer sometimes
I have cycled a lot. 4000km in Japan, and 800km in Norway.
Currently, I'm trying to learn writing.
