Overview
About Me
After finishing a sad and difficult job doing research on traumatic brain injury in a very poor hospital in NYC, I decided to rebound and turn my focus to lighter things: teaching yoga, playing music, and writing--and I've taken these pursuits on the road! Seeing the world is my most potent medicine, has been my greatest inspiration all of my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because of the remarkable stories from friends who've couchsurfed, and because after all the traveling I've done, I've learned how important it is to learn a place through the eyes of the people who live there. I love few things more than making new friends from other parts of the world. I've been effectively couchsurfing for years, just not with the app but by word of mouth--with friends of friends, new friends I've made in a park or on a train or in a cafe, etc--and I am excited to use this amazing service to connect with even more interesting and open people:) Amidst the vast tragedy and destruction in this world we are living in, I've found that the discovery of warmth and smiles from people everywhere have been amongst my most healing and motivating experiences.
Interests
My passion for yoga and meditation grew out of doing emergency aid work with a Hindu disaster relief organization in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, directly following the earthquake there in January 2010. Witnessing vast devastation of a city and its people, while simultaneously learning of the power of contemplative practice to buffer against adversity, deeply inspired and continues to influence my personal practice, teaching, and ongoing study. What I'm now sharing yoga-wise reflects a confluence of my years of study in yoga, neurorehabilitaiton, and somatics, and my passion for sharing tools for feeling whole in an increasingly fragmented world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Got to spend time gazing at the Mona Lisa alone, in that usually too crowded room in the Louvre; got so close my nose touched the glass!
Teach, Learn, Share
In addition to yoga, through music and writing I am forever in the process of learning to share my own experiences to help others learn from theirs.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I travel with my guitar and can sing for you! Or I'm very happy to teach yoga. But most of all, I look forward to sharing meaningful conversation and learning from your unique experience and perspective of the world.
