About Me

I'm a 26-year-old finishing a masters degree in Science and Technology Studies, specializing in Philosophy of Science and Technology. I somehow managed to finish a master's in Philosophy before that, and I'm currently trying to find a PhD in Philosophy. I enjoy traveling, reading and being lazy.

During my time as a student I've been very involved with international student organizations, and I'm still a big fan of youth organizations - be it political, educational, recreational... They allow you to meet many people that are driven to change the world for the better. Personally, I've been involved in a student organisation called ESN - it promotes mobility and international opportunities in education.

I am only now updating my profile since the information on here was at least five years old. However, I'm not very good at introducing myself. I guess the easiest way to get to know me would be by having a beer in Heidelberg, where I currently reside.

As I'm currently finishing my masters, I do not have a lot of time to host people, but I will try to be a bit more responsive to requests from now on (the low response rate at this point is from not logging in for months). Feel free to write me a message - but I can't promise anything due to my hectic schedule! Update: I am currently not in a position to host at all, but wide available for beers, coffees, and hangouts!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people, and what better way is there to get acquainted with new cultures?

Throughout the years I've been active on this page (by now it must've been around 7! or 8!), I have had great experiences -- both surfing and hosting. CS is not just a way to cheap accomodation, but rather a great institution facilitating a lifestyle I love!

Interests

I love traveling, philosophy (duh!), coffee, good conversations, wine, southeastern europe.

Music, Movies, and Books

Where do I start? A little taste: the unbearable lightness of being, the discovery of heaven, bright eyes, W.F. Hermans, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Seinfeld, Good Bye Lenin, ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

experience life!

Teach, Learn, Share

Let's exchange cultures!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a Philosopher by degree, so I can provide anyone with metaphysical insights or food for thought. What is human experience and how is it shaped by culture? What is knowledge? What is god? Let's talk about it!

Also, I have been called a 'great cook', I love cooking. Even though traditional Dutch food isn't very exotic, I know my way around the kitchen!

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Belgium, Germany, Greece, Netherlands
