I hate praising myself but what can you do... well, I'm a quite open-minded Finnish student-fellow looking for new experiences. I definitely enjoy meeting new people and getting in touch with different cultures. Hmm... what else? I'll let you answer this question once I meet you!

I'm still a bit of a rookie (edit: 2011-Ilkka :D) but I hope I can meet nice people through CouchSurfing!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I got introduced to the CouchSurfing culture summer 2011 when I hitch-hiked through Europe with a good friend of mine. I got quite thrilled about couchsurfing because we met a bunch of awesome people through this network!

Interests

My number one thing-to-do is playing guitar; I've played several years in a band. We've come a long way playing different kinds of music. These days our music could be described as some kind of surf indie -pop :D I'm also really into traveling (especially hitch-hiking is cool)! I study biology at the University of Helsinki so nature and environmental questions are of big interest.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: almost everything except opera works! My old-time favourite bands include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, Radio Head, System of a Down etc. Check out these Finnish bands: Magenta Skycode, Rubik, CMX, Kingston Wall

Tv-series: Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, True Blood, Breaking Bad, Oz...

Books: Finnish literature (I'm quite patriotic as you see...)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A three-week hitch-hiking tour through southern Europe in summer 2011 with a good friend. Definitely the coolest time of my life. Playing live shows is also something that really gives great vibes!
