ABOUT ME

I find everything (literally everything) fascinating. I practice mounted horseback archery, play guitar & sing, dance Argentine Tango (as well as MANY other things). I am always yearning to travel & spend most of my time (when I am not working with clients at home) writing & dancing & reading, composing or playing music with one of my bands or by myself; I tell stories & voraciously learn new things; going outside, climbing trees, eating ice cream & really bad jokes. I learn new languages every chance I get. I find absolute joy in the smallest things, good food, laughter, good books, good company & making friends through dance & music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Currently...I am beginning a sort of one-woman pilgrimage to uncover the history of human dance/movement, & research the influences & effects of folk dance & music, both globally & individually. I hope, by the end of the decade, to have formed a non-profit research & performance organization dedicated to the preservation & encouragement of folk dance & music & cultural history, as well as uncovering ways in which we may better understand each other & ourselves by connecting through music. Well...ok: Exploring...learning, dancing...writing, reading, cooking...dancing....singing, martial arts, instruments...dancing...long, good, conversations....dancing.....parks & swing sets...other people's languages & customs.......and...well, dancing! Haha. ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Actually....one was last night. I was riding my bike home & the clouds had started to roll in. But I looked up at the sky & was astonished to see that between the clouds, pieces of it were an incredible electric blue, while other parts seemed almost a warm navy color. The stars scattered throughout were almost eloquent, they were so bright...and the moon. The moon. You could see the whole thing, full & dark except for a bright white-silver sliver, illuminated & hanging heavy in the bottom...One of the most perfect sights I've ever seen.

But, then again...I seem to find myself awestruck every other day... :) Truly.
