About Me

I was born in Madrid, grew up near Chicago, and studied in San Francisco.

Adventure is something I have always been drawn to.

I live in SF and like to wander about enjoying the many parks and hidden corners.

I have 3 roommates and a guest room. If you need a place to stay let me know! Depending on the day I might be able to show you around a bit too(:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I am interested in meeting new people and exploring different cities and cultures. When I travel I find that the best way to experience a town is from a locals perspective. Everyone I have met through Couchsurfing has changed my life in some way - I am forever grateful for all of you!

I graduated high school a semester early and my brother and I took off from Chicago for a 40-hour long road trip to San Francisco. This involved about 6 days of travel, with 4 stays at couchsurfer's homes. The people we met along the way are what made our trip so special, and that is when I understood the importance of meeting locals.
Some people travel to get away and relax, I travel to explore and understand. I don't want to be in some hotel room with no one to talk to. I want to be in a home where there is life and knowledge. I want to understand what an average day looks like for the people who live there. I want to meet people!

Now I am sure you can see my account has no reviews, but if you go to 'Carlos Andina' you will find the 4 reviews from our 4 stays(:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled throughout Southeast Asia for a month on a backpacking trip. For part of this, I was with a nonprofit organization in Cambodia that helps local farmers. This consisted of staying in a rural home with a local family, and it even included planting rice in the scorching heat. I also got my passport stolen and was then, in a way, forced to travel alone in Cambodia/Thailand for 15 days. This solo travel experience was terrifying but also thrilling. It changed my outlook on many things. I do not think that writing about this experience can even begin to explain it.
