About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn Arabic like a boss, eat odd food

ABOUT ME

All about me? That's hard. Um, I'm very serious in a very laid back way. I love studying, reading, partying, cooking, dancing, laughing, talking (in whatever language I can learn), hearing travel stories and finding places to eat chicken butt.

PHILOSOPHY

and in the end, the love you make, is equal to the love you take

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Meeting new people, dancing, cooking, talking, this is all pretty redundant. I'm also pretty loud. Like chances are if you're at a mall in Qatar and you hear a really loud chuckle, it's me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to the community, but I'll keep you posted!

Interests

life, the universe and everything. The number 42. The life of Bryan. Why Gene Wilder is the funniest man who ever lived. Why Chris Rock quit stand up comedy. What to wear today. Can I learn 10 languages? Do these sunglasses make my nose look big? Does my nose look big? Why does reading critical theory suck so much? Also I love critical theory so, so much. WHY.

Music, Movies, and Books

Reading today: Hannah Arendt's "Essays in Understanding." It pisses me off that she never writes about women. I think she's one of those self-hating female academics who is like, "I'm above feminism." No you're not, love.

Listening to now: Chopin's 26 preludes

Just watched last night: Love and Basketball. God, Sanaa Lathan, you are a sexy beast.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've learned to spend some time inside my mind. It's a vast, lonely place, but it's home.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think the best thing I have to teach is how to get into graduate school. I work in graduate admissions for XYZ Ivy, and I LOVE helping people through the process.
