Overview
About Me
UPDATE! We are currently living in a 600sq ft 1 bedroom apartment and also have a 2yr old toddler now which does not make things very conducive to hosting guests. We would otherwise be happy to meet and connect with you and to share a bit about our local area.
CURRENT MISSION
Changing the world, one contact at a time...
ABOUT ME
Stephanie and Garick embody the yin and yang: interconnected and interdependent opposites. You'll soon find that out in Stephanie's more reserved and introspective manner compared to Garick's sociable and energetic nature. Undoubtedly, we share the common goal to: learn more about you and build friendships, inspire you and be inspired, and of course provide you with a warm and hospitable surfing experience, as well as expand our horizons outside of Los Angeles.(Garick mostly handles the communication)

PHILOSOPHY
To live honestly, genuinely, purposefully, even if that means swimming upstream against all of the other fish. "We are souls living a human experience", and live towards being in touch with the organic state of our true selves.
We earnestly strive to connect with others, through human experience, emotion, and intellect, in the briefest moment or longest conversation. We crave the world, and hope to unravel the world in ourselves. Technocratic solutions to a communal future.

In the summer of 2010 we've had the wonderful experience of meeting Mike and D'Angelo from www.travelcostaricanow.com Although we connected through YouTube and email; they let us stay at their place for 6 nights and it totally makes us believers in couch-surfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Rented a motorbike in Fortuna, Costa Rica. Went up the mountain quite easily. Coming back down on gravelly rock with bad brakes.. not so much. After losing control, skidding out, and already badly injured with a bit of bleeding; it started raining in the late afternoon. Oh no! What to do! We were at least a 45min ride from the city which meant that we would be stranded in the jungle overnight (and in the rain!) Luck upon luck, an angel sent a very compassionate truck whose driver had lost his leg a year earlier from a bad motorcycle accident. He had an attached cart and gave us a ride back to the main road and then followed us all the way into the city to make sure that we made it safely. Then he simply drove off, didn't even stick around for a thank you. Touched our hearts and we'll remember this small bit of humanity for the rest of our lives.
