Overview
About Me
Hello everyone! My name is JeniSage and I live in Salt Lake City with my boyfriend and our three pets. I am a very friendly introvert who loves the arts and science. To pay for food, I arrange and score operas written by children. I also work with high school students with disabilities and help them explore this earth. I'm a biology student with an emphasis on ecology/biodiversity. I love animals, especially reptiles.
I love horror movies, fruits and veggies, antiques, hiking, good music, good food, learning, and traveling (because duh, I mean what website are we on?). I'm mostly puns and some swears. I'm a musician and busker, and play the harp among other things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used to be a very active host and occasional surfer, and nowadays my profile generally sits there. I'm interested in keeping my profile around in case I need to surf or if I just want to find someone to hang out with in a new city. I'm also open to hangin' out and showing you around Salt Lake, but hosting these days is a big maybe.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: classic rock, jazz/blues, electronic, indie, alternative, classical, world, folk, et cetera. More specifically, some of my favorite bands/artists are Pink Floyd, Dr. Dog, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Maurice Ravel, Benjamin Britten, Duke Ellington, The Dandy Warhols, Kaizers Orchestra, Tom Waits, of Montreal, St. Vincent, Metronomy, Led Zeppelin, Art Tatum, The Beatles, Jelly Roll Morton, Bright Eyes, Dvorak, Yes, Rush, etc.
Movie-wise, favorites include Brazil, Man On Wire, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, The Seventh Seal, Annie Hall, Jules et Jim, In Bruges, A Mighty Wind, The Triplets of Belleville, Night of the Living Dead, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Pulp Fiction, Some Like it Hot, to name a few. I like horror movies. With lots of blood.
I really like to read poetry. But as far as real-ass books go, some favorites include On the Road, Life of Pi, The Varieties of Scientific Experience, Living Buddha Living Christ, The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat, Middlesex, and damn near all works of Stephen King and Kafka. I think Kafka is a comic genius, not a nihilist.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I swam with a shark in Madagascar! I also took a busking tour across the country for a summer and it was wonderful!
