Overview
About Me
Hi there! I am an artist and designer from Brisbane, Australia now living in Berlin for 5 years.
I love the change of seasons, which in my old tropical home, just didn't happen. Living near a park with water seems to keep me happy as well as access to delicious food, great galleries and all within biking distance.
For a living I make art: with kids, for events, for communities. All put together with a good sense of humour and hours of mind numbing repetition.
PHILOSOPHY
It all works out in the end. Eventually.
I'm trying to take life lightly, enjoy where I am in the moment and let go.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am really interested in cultural exchange. I like to meet people from all over the world and show them my new hometown. In Berlin I've given free tours of the city to CS'ers. The local perspective is always much more interesting which is why I like surfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couchsurfed in Liverpool, Glasgow and Berlin by myself and in Poznan where I surfed with my brother - it was a wonderful experience, shared and totally enriched by a wonderful host who took us on a weekend visit to her family, including cycling through woods, sausage BBQ and delicious Vodka.
As a surfer I am considerate, clean and more than happy to prepare a meal to say thank you. I appreciate people opening up their homes, and like to chat with my host, even if it is just for a quick tea, coffee or wine.
Interests
My creative interests are wide and varied. I like making games, knitting, woodwork, galleries, performance, inventions. While I am travelling I try to check out galleries, performances and to roam the streets.
If there is a flea market I will be there in a flash, like wise for food markets. Anywhere I can get some local food, and fresh fruit and veg I will be there. I'm a good cook but a very good eater.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm going to include TV because they are better than movies at the moment: The Knick, Orange is the new Black, House of Cards, Borgen and Game of Thrones
Books: the Road to Mars, the Time Travellers Wife, the Book Thief, Pride and Prej, Hitchikers.
Movies: Mary and Max, American Beauty, American Psycho, Killer Crocodile III, Amelie.
Kings of Convenience, the Mountain Goats, the Shins, Jose Gonzalez, Girl Talk, Suftjan Stevens, Paul Simon, the Decemberists, Kate Bush, Fleetwood Mac.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Skydiving. There is something totally insane about jumping out of a perfectly good plane. But I really enjoyed it.
If you haven't, think about it, decide not to, get a friend to convince you, try to stop thinking about it and then get pushed out of the plane. There is a moment of pure motion and pure stillness. I thought it was incredible.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to cook and will happily do so for you or with you. In my kitchen ideally I'd put on some 80's ballads and sing and dance along. Your kitchen, your rules, but if Kate Bush is blasting, I will be singing along.
Knitting or crochet? I enjoy a Stitch and Bitch session, best served with tea or beer.
Teach me anything you can do with your hands: origami, pasta, plant cuttings, whatever!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food, stories, tea and/or wine. I'm into talking about lots of different topics and like to hear other perspectives.
