I live for community connections, being around horses, dogs, cats, friends, in forests, near rivers, lakes and oceans and around people with a passion for making a difference or following a dream.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to meet new people in new places through couch surfing and meet new people in my place through hosting other couch surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A few formal CS experiences, and I've also been a "Woofer" which has a similar travel concept.

Interests

I love community organizing, environmental advocacy, planning events, creating community media, building networks, getting people involved in their communities, taking care of and riding horses, equine massage, cooking vegetarian food, hiking, reading, writing, & day-dreaming. I also really like green building, farmer’s markets, good dog parks, bamboo, trees, and water. I want to do more indoor rock-climbing, organic gardening, sailing, kayaking, and website development. My personal research interests include media literacy & activism, community spaces, human-scale neighborhood planning, sustainable living, green entrepreneurship, and knowing and examining our environment as defined by the physical, economic, political, and cultural conditions in which we live.

There's really too wide a range for me to answer this question concisely and meaningfully so I'm skipping it. But yes, I like music, movies and books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Helped draw attention to and stop cypress wetland clear cutting in south Louisiana. www.saveourcypress.org

Kayaked and sailed in the SF Bay (which I think is pretty amazing but others may not).

Hiked to the top of the second tallest mountain in NH.

Had the privilege of owning an amazing horse when I was younger.

I can share/discuss random things in my areas of interest.

I would like to learn more about plants and more about other places.
