About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Becoming ...

ABOUT ME

Sometimes happy, sometimes sad but I'm always try to be funny. Sometimes loud and sometimes silent. Sometimes curious, sometimes incurious. Sometimes a bit crazy. Human after all.

And from time to time really cheesy.

PHILOSOPHY

Fuck philosophy. It only creates more disturbance than ordinance. Try to have a quiet mind to hold on the best time because things happen by chance and not by planning. Everything in life changes, count on it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I'm on the road i'll forward couch requests to my family who will give you a heartly welcome and most likely host you in a private room.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My family, my brother and me have been hosts to a couple of people, providing them with delicious german food - the german kitchen is not as one sided as many people think - and a big bed, as well as a small tour around our area. Everybody stayed at least 2 nights so far.
I myself have been couch surfing abroad several times and had some great experiences.

Interests

Seeing people laugh or smile is the most engaging thing you can have in your life, even more if they had or have to endure hardships.
Photography (especially analog 6X6). I also collect cameras.
People.
Nature, movies movies movies, art, the internet.
Sportswise I do scuba-diving from time to time, i used to do some Jiu-Jitsu and fitness, biking, running, hiking.
I like to pretend to be a creative chef and even tough people look upon my creations with distaste, most of the time it's delicious. And as I'm a German I've got this orderely fashion or urge of cleaning up things (including kitchens) from time to time, so don't get me started - but after all you should honor the place which creates joy;)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm very open minded about all arts related topics. Music from classical music to french chansons and heavy beats. Movies from Hollywood to Bollywood and Asian Cinema. It's kind of a strange sight on my shelf: The classics of Kungfu film right next to a selection of Bollywood and some Werner Herzog movies. Not to talk about Japanese gore movies ... Sushi eating humans - gorgeous.

Also on the bookshelf there's a random (or not so random) mix of classical and philosophical works, as well as modern stories and a lot of photography books (e.g. by Magnum).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taking a swim with my brother at Pangong Tso in 4250 m above sea level.
Or hiking up Mt. Kyaikto in the late evening/night with 2 monks and talking about religion, life and football.
Seeing a spirit bear / Kermode bear in Canada.
Diving in freezing cold lakes in Germany and Austria.
Taking a piss from different high spots all over the world.
Hiking in Hawaii, just me, myself and the rain in serene valleys.
Sleeping on a volcano.
Swiming with dolphins.
Driving offroad (4WDs) in Australia, where a friend also took me dune riding in his car.
Sleeping on the rocks along a beautiful, empty, white and sandy beach.
Kayaking down Namou river with a food poisoning and over 24h of eating nearly nothing.
... as well as plenty of other things which are less memorable: But there's everyday something amazing to see or do in the macrocosm or microcosm.

Teach, Learn, Share

People who have a lot of stories to tell, pictures to show and questions to ask, but at the same time I enjoy the company of people who just join in the silence for a while, listening to the sounds of life. Being tranquil.
And the people who are willing to share their craziness about whatever it is (okay there are some boundaries here).
I can teach a lot about photography and software in the creative realm. Filmmaking. Share some philosophical (or not so philosophical) insights about life.
