first of all lets be honnest, i am a student so i aint got no money to pay fora hotel room and even if i had i've always said that nothing can replace the human contact, the ideas exchanges taht can ake place in a couchsurfing context, meeting peoplemy age or not from different horizons, people that can give a real view about the town/country you're visiting that has nothing to do with hotel standads.
