About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Experience all I can
ABOUT ME
I am a freelance production junkie and a documentary film maker. I grew up in NJ, ended up in Portland OR, and absolutely love it here. I live in an artist work/live community, and my current game plan is to stay based out of Portland and travel as much as I can with work.
I recently produced a feature documentary, and my days are split between marketing/promo work and freelance audio/camera work. I'm involved in Portland's beer community (I don't drink a lot but I love tasting), and in my spare time I'm a fan of abusing the nearby gym's punching bag. I love hiking, camping, and I'd love to learn more about minimalistic camping/survival and rafting.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is too short to not experience everything you can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm looking to use couch surfing as a way to expand my work opportunities while making real connections as I travel--In my book, spending time in airports and hotel rooms doesn't count as traveling to a city. I'm not capable of hosting due to my current living situation, but if you need a guide in Portland I'd be more than happy to show you around.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've did quite a bit of couch surfing while working--most was through friends of friends that I hadn't met previously, but it was great getting to meet people I wouldn't have otherwise and seeing a more intimate view of the city I was in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I work in video production, predominantly as audio for documentaries. My best memory is during a two week stint in Haiti. It was near the end of the two weeks, eating MRIs, sleeping on a concrete slab, and having a 45lb audio bag attached to my body for 15 hours a day. Our shoot location was in a Haiti schoolhouse, and while chasing my subject, an audio cable got snagged on the corner of a desk in the very crowded, dimly lit classroom. I looked down to see an 8 year old school boy, full of smiles, gently lift my audio cable and free me from the desk. I don't speak a lick of creole, so best I could do was return his giant smile before having to catch back up to my subject.
