About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel as much of the world as I can manage in 10 months

ABOUT ME

I'm finally travelling after thinking about it for too long. In my other life, I'm a business manager for an IT company in London, England. Outside of work, I write songs and sing in a band with my pal. I sing in a gospel choir and play the 5 string banjo badly. I also cycle everywhere. I love to bake and cook.

PHILOSOPHY

Better to sit thinking about stupid stuff you've done than to wish you'd done it.

Interests

Music, movies (especially Pixar and anything Marvel comics makes into a film), Sci-fi, TV shows (Firefly, Spaced, Game of Thrones, The Big Bang Theory, The Following, The Walking Dead), dancing to cheesy songs, quiet drinks with friends. Noisy drinks with friends. I'm interested in life in general.

Music, Movies, and Books

My two favourite bands ever are Incubus and Jimmy Eat World but that's not my exclusive pool of listening. I really enjoy English and American folk e.g. Martin Carthy, Richard Thompson, Steel Eye Span, Bob Dylan, Joe Pug, Ben Marwood, Frank Turner amongst others. I enjoy all sorts of music really and will reel off who I've seen live: Green day, Pink, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Joe Pug, Frank Turner, Ben Marwood, Bon Iver, Paul Weller, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Alabama Shakes, Jimmy Eat World, Incubus, The Revival Tour, Alkaline Trio, Crazy Arm, Billy Bragg, Franz Ferdinand, Editors, Paramore, Take That.......OK, I'm out of remembering power but there's more than that.

Reading wise, I'm not a fussy reader at all. My favourite books of late have been 'Any Human Heart', 'Cloud Atlas', 'The Book of Lost Things' and 'Reefer Men'. I tend to dislike classics because I'm obviously not smart enough to appreciate them. They waffle on for far too long.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rice terraces in Sapa, N.Vietnam.
Elephant Nature Park, Thailand.
Diving to 30m. I love baby yellow box fishies.

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone has something to teach. I can teach you to bake cakes, biscuits and bread. I can teach you to sing and I can teach you about how fast a girl can shower if she needs to.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Japan, Laos, Taiwan, Thailand, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, United Kingdom
