I'm a student currently on a research internship in Singapore, but usually based in the UK. I grew up in Belgium (oui, je parle un peu de francais mais je habite dans le nord, je parle nederlandais!). I had a difficult teens and am compensating now by trying to grab hold of life and get the most out of it, however I can.

I'm training to be a biologist, and it shows - ask me about some fun animal facts sometime :P. In my spare time I do a lot of creative writing, urban fantasy and sci-fi. I'm a pretty upbeat person according to my friends, and while I'm shy in groups, I'm very open and sharing in smaller settings. (And perhaps this is a good way to work on said shyness!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My initial understanding of couchsurfing made me uncomfortable, I imagined it was for much braver people than me, much like hitch-hiking. I've been travelling a little more this year and thus reading about travel related things more, and actually learned about the culture of couch surfing and this site.

The idea of meeting people sounds like incredible fun, especially meeting travellers in my city and while I'm travelling, and this seems like a very welcoming and easy going way to do so!
And maybe I'll build up to the more literal side of couchsurfing as I go... ;)
