About Me

I am a widely travelled person with a love for meeting and discovering people, countries and cultures. My other interests vary between writing, painting, cooking, eating, camping, trekking, kayakig, scuba diving, fishing, sailing, swimming, jogging and sharing experiences over food and/or a bottle of wine.

I enjoy getting to know people, preferably over a nice dinner, and showing off my country which is adorned with so much beauty, history and culture. I love nature and being one with it, hence I cherish the opportunity to camp out and discover the less urban side of places just as much as I enjoy roaming around cosmopolitan cities and towns.

At heart I am a young person, with a zest for life and a Peter Pan syndrome so you may expect some occasion prank and most definitely laughter. I love to be around people who are fun, funny, adventurous and who have a contribution to make to life and those around them. I am clean, organised and well educated, generally accommodating and out to help people yet I do not allow myself to be taken for granted.

I have a thirst for learning and discovery, to explore new places, people and their cultures and like to be different if I can. My approach to life is simple.... to do something at least once and experience as much of life as possible.

What I dislike... naggers and people who see the negative side of life, people who do not like to share and reciprocate and people who take things and people for granted.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing appeals to me because it opens up my horizons to meet new people, discover new places and widen my life experience. I think it is an excellent concept and helps bring people together and facilitate friendships and networking.

I see it as a means of interacting with others which serves to create a better understanding and appreciation of each other and our differing cultures, hence nurturing tolerance and acceptance. I also like Couchsurfing because it makes travel more achievable and affordable which allows one to travel wider and further and extend one's experiences.

I am currently unable to host people because I am in the process of doing works on my house but hope to be able to accept visitors in the coming year.

Interests

Travelling, Writing, Cooking, Ethnic cuisine, Eating, Art, History, anything Adventurous, Crafts, the Sea, Sailing, Scuba, Camping, Trekking... well I said it all above :-)

I have taken the plunge into Skydiving, literally in my own hands stepping out of an MI8 Russian helicopter solo just for the challenge... after a 3 day static line course which earned me the right to do that :-)

I am open to new experiences and looking to challenge myself further. Might consider Bungee Jumping ! On my bucket list I have swimming with sharks and would love to experience a ride in a hot air balloon. First on my bucket.... buy a bucket ;-)

Music, Movies, and Books

I am not much into music but I generally love most genres of music but in particular soft and classic rock, cool funky jazz, country and western, old time classics, 70's and 80's and a few others.

Not into Gregorian music however ! :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sky dived, first time on my own !
