ABOUT ME

I'm just stoked to be alive, to have the gift of limbs to dance with, ears to hear music with, a mouth to speak with, and eyes with which to gorge on this feast that is life. I guess I'm a sensualist, when it comes down to it.

I'm silly, I'm open-minded, I respect different opinions from my own (and I want to hear about them!) I'm on a mission to learn and experience something new as often as I can... "Each day new."

I've hosted some awesome people and stayed with awesome people as well, both on this site and off. There's nothing like waking up in a strange place, yet feeling at home because of the people who are hosting you. I love it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I LOVE TO READ. If you read, we will certainly be swapping book suggestions if not actual books.
Right now I really dig George Saunders, Ernest Hemingway and Junot Diaz. I'll forever love Annie Dillard ("Pilgrim at Tinker Creek") and Marvin Harris. I like to read about culture and history. I love poetry, too.

I don't watch many movies these days. I have a hard time paying attention to the whole thing. I really like "adaptation," "the life aquatic," most coen brothers movies, and lots of foreign films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fulfilling a childhood fantasy of tubing down a river in the Amazon rain forest in Ecuador. There were monkey swinging from the trees. RIDICULOUS.

Climbing an extinct volcano and getting lost in a cloud.

Javelinas in the desert at the Mexico-U.S. border.
