About Me

Born and raised in Mid-Wales I have an innate love of nature and the environment but also a huge desire to explore the world and travel. I have been living in big cities since leaving home and enjoy the business and the array of activities on offer.

I currently reside in Manchester, moving back here to finish my degree after completing a placement year in London, last year.

I have travelled a lot for both work and leisure, in the last 12 months or so I have been to; Copenhagen, Madrid, Paris, Porto, Toronto, Antwerp, New York, Boston, Nashville, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Geneva, Chamonix - all of which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I used the Bumble BFF app for meeting new friends in NY whilst on business, after losing touch with Couchsurfing for a little while - but now I'm back! Exploring new cities with locals is certainly one of the better options in my opinion.

My interests are quite broad and I wouldn't say I have a 'hobby' as such as I tend to just try out everything. I love listening to music and enjoy to cook, travel (of course!), exercise and meeting new people. I've only just got into reading for pleasure as I'm getting tired of being on my computer and phone all of the time, so any good book suggestions are welcomed! I love Paulo Coehlo and his writing and am still reading Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts.

I'm currently in my final year at Manchester University and am writing my BA (Hons) Geography thesis.

My philosophies:
Things just seem to fall into place and work out in the end, and if it doesn't work out, it's not the end. I've been quite lucky with my year out and the role that I'm working in, and really enjoy it! It didn't come without the usual plot twists and bends in the road, but I think that's what life's about.. just dealing with whatever gets thrown your way.

Live life to the full. Always push yourself to achieve more. Be kind, honest and welcoming.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So I've been relatively inactive for the last few months but I'm keen to surf (potentially host, although I only have 2 small sofas and a blowup mattress) and meet with people.

My couch surfing experience has been pretty good. My Mother and I had the opportunity to couchsurf and catsit across Italy which was a wonderful experience. I have also stayed with my mother whilst housesitting in Prague and attended a couple of meet ups whilst we were there.

I don't know much about the Manchester couchsurfing scene, or if there is one but would be keen to get involved in outings etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a good range of music, apart from heavy metal.. that's not really my jam. After visiting Nashville I'm a little more into country music but I usually tend to listen to Jazz, pop/charts, house, techno, electronic stuff.

I need to read more books and watch more movies. I didn't use to watch a lot of TV.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting Borneo

Visiting the Orangutan sanctuary in Sepilok was amazing, as I've always had an interest in wildlife and nature. It inspired me to want to help protect different endangered species and be aware of my day-to-day impact on the global community. I would also love to visit and volunteer at the Sloth Sanctuary in Costa Rica. They fascinate me.

Teach, Learn, Share

My degree is in BA (Hons) Geography which encompasses a bit of everything as it is the interactions between people and places. Political geography around migration and security is one of my favourite aspects of the course but I've also enjoyed learning about Food and Farming and Urbanisation as well.

I'm keen to hear about your stories and background as well!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help to cook, and help around the house if I stay with you. I can tell you about my travels and make recommendations.
