About Me
CURRENT MISSION
insanity in reasonable doses is a virtue! (c) i'd like to spread some of the positive insanity around the globe and make it sparkle with joy and foam with happiness! That's why I started www.maddawnchallenge.net/about project!!! P.S. READ COUCH INFO!!!
ABOUT ME
PLEASE READ MY COUCH INFO BEFORE WRITING ME. i WILL know if you didn't read it and you may not be getting a reply. it's there for YOU, not me. thank you :).for all NEW CS USERS - here's some useful information to help you get started, write proper CS requests and enjoy all CS has to offer:http://www.couchsurfing.com/group.html?gid=16393*******************************************************important rants :)1. IF YOU DON'T EVEN TAKE A MINUTE TO LEARN ABOUT THE PERSON(S) YOU ARE PLANNING TO SHARE A HOME WITH, FOR HOWEVER SHORT THE TIME, YOU PROBABLY MISUNDERSTAND THE PURPOSE OF THIS WEBSITE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! this generally means, read the profiles of people you write to.2. i have a NAME. in fact, if you may have noticed, ALL CSers have a NAME (or at least a SCREEN NAME. if you're not sure - look in references, if there are any, you can often find the person's name there). NOBODY'S NAME or screen name is "hi", "hello", "how are you", "hey there", "i'm coming to...", "yo", "whatsup?", "salut" and so on ;) in short, be so kind as to address me leah in your message.3. also, for the very few people who may have yet another misunderstanding about this website: CS IS NEITHER A DATING community, NOR A "LET'S MAKE RANDOM INTERNET FRIENDS" community!!! *******************************************************Create your own visitor map!well, this being vented :)... about me now... first and foremost, since i'm so often being labelled an evil (w)itch by people who receive my replies (with some suggestions) to their requests for my couch for the dates when i'm not even in the country (ahem)...if something i ever say or write sounds mean to you - you're probably just missing the sarcasm. and oh yeah - read the couch info, DUH. would save you the trouble, really ;).been to 42 countries (and counting!) of the world, lived in 3 out of those, planning to cover the remaining ones during the remaining years of my life :O). that's as far as travelling goes. otherwise, i like reading, writing, swimming, horse-riding, partying, sleeping, playing pool, dancing (mostly lambazouk, hip hop, salsa, oriental, trance/ drumm'n'bass, pop, funky - yeah i know, quite a mix :O)). i write poetry (people keep telling me it's good so i guess it ain't all too bad :S ) and i'm hoping to learn 6 more languages :O). and Leah is the common name i go by. i finally made my own little website but the server went down :( so instead i started a blog... check it out if you wish.http://inshade.wordpress.com/my new crazy project to help everyone in the whole world is at www.maddawnchallenge.netand you can find me on facebook as Leah InShade. mind you, i may add you to my friends even if i don't know you, but all unknown people are restricted from viewing some parts of my profile :).
PHILOSOPHY
i wanna save the world. i mean it too. i hope that i can somehow contribute to making a positive change around because i wouldn't want to see it all perish because of human ignorance... i know logically saving our planet seems an impossible task to accomplish - we've done too much damage to it. but there's still this tiny stubborn part of me that hopes i'm wrong. so i want to live my life for a reason, however impossible it might be, and at last know that i'd die having tried. which is why i launched the MAD DAWN Challenge project (feel free to join in! www.maddawnchallenge.net is its home)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
i love travelling. i think i was born nomad :O).
CS definitely offers not just a couch, but a possibility of finding tourist-unaccessible insider information about nearly anywhere one might go :O).
the best thing, however, is getting to know the people of all backgrounds who can make for an intimate experience of a foreign culture - that is priceless (for the rest of it, there's a credit card :O)). and the number of CSers believing in the best of the world and making it better however they can gives hope to me about humanity and makes me think - maybe we still hold a chance...
as for myself, i try to open my door and heart to as many people as i can, and i am planning to greately expand my personal surfing experience soon :)
besides hosting and surfing and meeting CSers, i try to help with information on prague. i also have created a group for the new CSers aimed at helping them start off here :).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
okay i started it here by jetting off all the way to Cuba lol speaking no spanish and with a very limited budget (right, dare call me normal after that!).
so far, i met many amazing people only thanx to CS, i've surfed a couple of couches (and didn't want to leaeeeave at all!!!!), i've hosted a crowd of awesome guests and i think CS is now one of the few addictions i'm gonna have to put up with for the rest of my life :))

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
besides managing to get born (and it's a hard job :)) and joining CS?...dunno...parachute jump, diving... oh yeah - finally launching my crazy "help the world" project! :Dlife's so amazing every day it makes it hard to choose, especially because "amazing" is subjective judgement :) here's one story for you though: one night i was sitting at the KFC with a friend of mine. a numb homeless guy walked in. he came up to our table and wanted to shake my friend's hand. my friend at first didn't react, but i asked him "why don't u? he just wants to greet you", so the handshake took place.the homeless guy then proceeded to 'ask' (gesturing) other customers for remains of their chicken and settled in a corner to finish off what was left on one of the trays he found.i don't often give money out in the streets, but i do it when i feel like doing it. so when we were leaving, i came up to the guy and left him 100Kc note on the tray (around 5usd by the day's rate. nothing lifechanging for me, and a full meal for the man) and was about to leave, when the man caught me, i guess to thank me, by the hand and kissed it...i don't know exactly why, but i came home and broke down in tears... there's so many people in this world who have SO MUCH, yet act so badly towards everyone around them, and here is a numb, homeless guy with more spirit and manners than a good portion of the "civilized" human population... THAT to me was amazing and touching - the very little incident that it was...

TO HELP MAKE THIS WORLD A BETTER PLACE WITH MINIMAL EFFORT: every day at 13:00 PM CET there is a 10 minute global meditation, open to absolutely every human being. all it takes is to free 10 minutes of time to send in any way or manner love and positive energy to the Planet Earth, all human and living beings on it. for the local time of the meditation wherever you are - check the list on http://timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?hour=21&min=0&sec=0&p1=152there's often a live feed of the meditation moderator on www.universalenergy.tv every day, starting 10 minutes before the meditation time (sometimes it doesn't happen, but the meditation takes place regardless), when Dr. Prof. Dame Theresa Nguyen tells a few inspiring words in English and Vietnamese. The meditation times for major cities of the world are listed on the website under the screen. so, next time you're sitting in a tram or anywhere else and remember about the meditation - send a few positive thoughts to our world - it really needs it!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ETC:here's one good idea for pple who care:http://www.wwf.org.uk/support/adopt.asp?pc=ADF002001here's one thing i've been into for a few years (lol not cuz i'm a fanatic but cuz so far nothing in this particular direction has provoked a negative reaction from me:O))http://www.huesa.organd if you wanna laugh out of your breath and senses at some cultural jokes, search google videos for russell peters, watch the 46 minute long video - should be one of the first ones to pop up :O)enjoy!
